Don't know what to think of CNN. They're actually making sense these days.

"The president finally acknowledged the unsustainable social and economic burdens of permitting millions of illegal aliens to forge documents, pressure our public schools and hospitals and overtax our local and state budgets."
He acknowledged it long ago, Mr. Dobbs. You just ignored it.

Lip service is not the type of acknowledgement we're looking for...

-"He acknowledged it long ago, Mr. Dobbs. You just ignored it." If the President "acknowledge it long ago", why the wait now (5 years 'after' 9/11) to send a measly 6,000 in "support" role to control the borders?
To: staytrue
"instant post speech poll had approval of bush's speech at 79%."
Initial hope maybe that he is doing something to make the border stronger now?
But the followup polls are coming out they show support is much, much lower now that reality is sinking in

If Lou was as good on all topics as he has been on immigration, he'd put FOX News out of business.
His ratings increases are, I think, a result of his immigration position (and as he competes of Greta Van Cistern)

Mr. Dobbs is mistaken. Durban, Kennedy and Reid were more than satisfied, as were the Durban, Kennedy, Reid, Bush wing of FR.

President Bush's speech yesterday pleased nobody according to CNN. Next the Senate passes the Amnesty for Illegals Bill under the phony label of 'Immigration Reform.' Today
Mexico Voters Fear Nation on Edge of Chaos as elections near. Senator Sessions of Alabama has a study proving that the Senate Bill will result in mass immigration of Mexicans.
What if the chaos in Mexico drives millions more over the border? Huh? DUH !
Did anyone in the Senate consider the unstable and corrupt government of Mexico? Did a single Senator book a trip to Mexico City to learn about government corruption first hand? Nada por nada. Mexico's capitol is the kidnapping capitol of the world. Organized crime runs the city.

President Bush might well have acknowledged it, but he sure took no action. Even when illegal aliens demonstrated in our streets demanding perks, he failed to speak out against these criminals. He has taken no effective steps in securing our borders or deporting the millions, but did babble about amnesty. He has shown no leadership at all in stemming the invasion of this country.

I guess that makes Lou Dobbs a nobody.
To: LouAvul
Dobbs wouldn't agree with the President no matter what Bush had said.

Didn't Lou Dobbs make a number of positive comments about Bush when he ran against Gore?

Actually, it was the President and not Mr. Dobbs that ignored it.

Bush wants his earned path to citizenship (aka amnesty) passed. That should take take of the ILLEGAL situation, LOL.
No more false documents, all they need do is sign a piece of paper and lie about how long they have been in this country . Five years? No problemo..Just sign on the bottom line.

Lip service or not, he stated such more than once. I give the President credit for addressing it at all. But I will give him alot more credit if he continues to move towards the House version.
