Hi Dog, good post and thanks for your service to your Country! I have been very critical of Bush for several reasons. Borders, illegal aliens, socialism of medicine, just to name a few. I would be not holding up to my obligations as an American if I did not voice my opinion of what I thought was wrong. Given that however I still believe He has dome much good and if given the chance again I would vote for him again over traitorists like Kerry or Gore. I see a man that is tying to please everyone by taking stances which do not satisfy either side. you cannot do this and be called a true leader. You must make decisions based on what is right and go with it like Lincoln did.

"I agree they ought to be regarded with general respect; but this would be a much easier request if they, in turn, spoke & acted respectfully toward us."

You sound as if because you don't get your way, you have been treated disrespectfully.

Has it ever occurred to you that there may be other, more effective ways of accomplishing the mission than your own?

Your FR page says you are a "big fan of George Bush." When did that change?

but if they cant do the job, we will replace them with ANOTHER Republican,

Nothing would give me more pleasure, except that my representative is a RINO, and unopposed.

Great post, PD. The constant Bush-bashing has really brought the forum down. I'm not talking about disagreements with some of his policies, but the all out trashing of President Bush. It's disgusting.

And Miss Marple, could you please FReepmail me too regarding Laura Bush? Not that I really want to read more trash, but I'd like to know who trashed her.

No problem. And I hope you don't mind returning the favor for me in the upcoming months. I can feel my neck hinges starting to rust.

Thanks for post! I only skimmed it, but I think I get the point.

I have done my share of griping about Bush, and will probably continue to vent from time to time.

But on this site (and in my life) I have consistently lived by the principle that one has to choose from the best (or the least bad) of the REALISTIC choices one faces, rather than some ideal alternative that does not exist.

I hope your words re-energize the conservatives and Republicans out there. We need it.

Thanks again.

I have always been a big fan of George Bush. Even in his Texas Governor days. That has never changed.

"Just move that parsley to the side, and enjoy the meat of Tax cuts, Conservative Justices, and the best part of all, the inability of Democrats to do anything about it."

I have indeed savored these and other good moves by the President and relatively conservative Congress. I just wish it to continue and get even better. If we allow hundreds of millions of poorly educated voters onto the rolls, the party's over. No question about it. The same wonderful folks that brought us the street demonstrations will shift their focus to voter registration. They will load up these maliable followers on election day by the bus load and ferry them to the polls. Here's a hint. They wont be voting republican. On that day, the Conservative Agenda is truly and permanently over.

Thank you for attempting to bring sanity back to the table. This food fight has been one of the nastiest I've ever witnessed here. And I've seen a LOT. Everyone is frustrated right now, and no one particularly likes what's on the menu. It's nothing compared to what will be served us IF the dems. take control. Regards, SVITW

...enjoy the meat of Tax cuts, Conservative Justices...

For the life of me, I cannot understand how anyone could not appreciate these things.

It's simple, really. They are , in many ways, no different from that they claim to despise. NOTHING is ever perfect enough in the dream of a Conservative utopia
