---claudiustg:Are you that obtuse?
Forfeiture.---

Hardly. That was a question, but apparently he is that obtuse and you also if you think passports equal a secure border. The 9/11 bunch had passports, illegal Mexicans don't.

As I pointed out requiring a passport of someone to visit their sister in Calgary will do absolutely nothing to fix our border situation. Furthermore requiring passports and leaving the southern border unsecured will do absolutely nothing to raise the Republican Party in the estimation of the American people.

If you two are examples of what's left of the Republican base, we're in a lot more trouble than I thought.

"Well I would call the Canadian border a pretty damned big mouse hole wouldn't you? Ya know where the Terrorists actually operate freely?"

I live on the US/Canadian Border, so I am quite well aware that it is a huge Mousehole. It needs to be walled as well. Our Frontier here is not only wide open, it's the perfect place for people who want to sneak into the country to do so.

The ONLY problem I could think of (for the would be terrorist that is) would be the fact that folks in this country who aren't caucasian, stand out like a sore thumb.

Any citizen who re-enters this country should have to prove that they are a citizen of this country. You really don't agree with that?

Hardly. That was a question, but apparently he is that obtuse and you also if you think passports equal a secure border. The 9/11 bunch had passports, illegal Mexicans don't.

Claud, nowhere did I say passports equal a secure border. Several times I did imply that passports equal a more secure border.

Only a dope like you wouldn't understand the logical difference.

And of course using biometric passports would make the borders more secure. Any citizen who re-enters this country should have to prove that they are a citizen of this country.

Most get it -- you don't.

>>>>The party, the President and the congress may be listening to the base but it's the liberal base, not me, not us and this illegal immigration issue is the defining issue. With Harriet Miers I was a sexist. With the Dubai ports deal I was a xenophobe. With illegal immigration I'm a racist and a member of the DU. Go ahead call me more names that will surely make me see it your way. Yeah, that's the ticket.

That was one fine post. Sexist, xenophobe, racist... what mindless drivel. The status quo Bush automatons have struck again.

Bingo, and nothing accomplishes this better then a passport.

[ I'm sure Bush will take Tancredo's "do it or else" ultimatum under advisement. ]

Either that OR we'll have multi millions of NEW DEMOCRATS inducted into the democrat party(2008).. You know; the ones that do not know Hillary is the Hildebeast.. or Nancy Pelosi is a witch.. Bush surely knows this as do YOU Sinky.. The White RINO House sees no problem with millions of new democrats.. for Bush is a, "Unite'er not a Divide'er"..

Its just that hes uniteing with the wrong party.. Five years at bat and he has to be dragged to this speech.. You know; to appear that he is not taking the republican party apart bone by bone.. its about denyablity.. so that he can deny turn coat malfeance in the future..

Tonights speech should make all clear..
Conservatives are not stupid, RINOs are.. else they wouldn't be RINOs..

---LOL, you obviously don't know much about illegal immigration.---

So now you're going to claim that illegals sneaking across the border have passports?

Many do.

What they all lack, is a visa.

I agree with everyone who is saying that this speech - unlike the one on stem cells - seals the Bush presidency, one way or the other. If he does not initiate steps designed unambiguously to secure the border, then his presidency is over. His poll norms will drop into the teens, quite literally.

Conservatives and Republicans will ask a simple question: If Republicans will not take steps to seal the border, why vote Republican? This does not mean the disgruntled - me included - will vote Dim; this is not a possibility. But it does mean we might well not vote at all and, most certainly, we will not contribute hard money to the national committee or to any candidates that do not take a hard line on this issue. It also means that we will zone Bush out: whatever he says next, on any topic, will fall on deaf ears.

This speech is that important. If the President is unambigous, then I see his poll numbers crossing 50% going northwards, and I see everything else he says securing a larger, and larger audience of attentive voters.

So, please Mr President, don't go on TV and say the same old-same old. If you do, you're putting a fork into your own behind; for you are then done.

---Many do. ---

Many of the probably have a cousin named Maria, too, but it doesn't have anything to do with sneaking in and obtaining work illegally.

I'm waiting for (MojoWire) to flesh out what "attitudes" "Spanish people" have that are "alien" to all other attitudes in this country.-----Maybe it's all those brown babies they have, or the hard work ethic they foster, or, maybe, it's because they're Catholics! ------ More likely is that Mojo Wire regrets making that statement and will just hope we all forget about it.

I regret nothing.

As for the disgusting "attitudes" many illegals have, maybe its the attitude which makes them march in US streets with foreign flags, demanding the right to violate laws and butt in line ahead of law abiding people who waited years.

Maybe its the attitude of some who join radical violent MS-13 gangs and thus murder innocent Americans.

but it doesn't have anything to do with sneaking in and obtaining work illegally.

Never said it did and neither did any one in the Government.

The passport requirement has nothing to do with stopping illegals from crossing the border illegally; it's about stopping identity fraud, identity theft and counterfeiting.

yep.....the 1986 illegal pool has begotten this one.

We will be an Amerinidan Mexi-Salva-Guat-Hon American dominated nation in one to two generations and they will not leave their failed cultures at the door.

And these increased legal immigation plans will only exacerbate this issue.

The third world( and it's called that for a reason) will consume us.

The taxpaying contributing non-Minority status voters in this nation are the only thing keeping the Dems from winning again.

It is foolish to further dilute that tenuous majority. Absolute nuts.

It would be like the Romans voting in the Visigoths
