Oh,...I didn't know about Moby's exhortation....
I didn't post very much for a while, and I don't remember posting anything remotely "controversial" that got me in trouble...
UNTIL, the Terry Schiavo threads started up....WOW---that was my first experience with real flame wars...
Of course, with President Bush winning in November of 2004, this was a pretty happy place for a while...
To: defconw
It appears to be contagious too.

In the aftermath of the hurricane, Bush asked Pentagon officials to review ways to give the military a bigger role in responding to major disasters.
@@@@@
You forgot to add "when the Governor of the State suffering the disaster refuses to ask for Federal help."

No, it isn't tanking. There does seem to be an adjustment going on but one could hardly call it tanking. My friend is a Democrat and he's predisposed to using that word rather than what's really happening.
From your point of view, it's becoming more of a buyers market. Too many reasons to go into but consider some people may have an ARM they need to get out from under. Others may be moving to take advantage of the changing market. Still others may be trying to speculate.
My point is, don't panic or worry about it. Regardless of what happens to the housing marker (here or anywhere else for that matter) it's only a matter of time before the future prices outpace whatever you pay for a home today.

HI...sorry to bother you on a Sunday, but A. Hun suggested, (I think he was the first to suggest it)...that we have a "Tell it to Tony" thread or somesuch.
A thread where we could post stuff for Tony to read in his spare time (LOL)...about subjects that WE feel really need to be put to the POTUS...
If I got this wrong, A.Hun, please correct me.
I just suggested you start it...we put it in the TALK SHOW section from the top of the page....and we can all post when we get the urge.
The reason I picked (on) you, was because I figured you would be the one person I thought would be able to get ahold of Tony and ask him if he would read it, if we posted it.
Are you confused yet??
To: defconw
Alexander McClure had a suggestion. See the new tagline

I have been here since 98, and I have seen it all. You should have seen the flame wars during the 2000 primaries! Those were classics! There are also people who are sincerely interested in border security, and understandably so. I have noticed the rapid increase in Hispanics here in Indiana, so I can imagine it is alarming if you live near the border. I support strengthening the border and deporting illegals who are convicted of crimes. I think those two things would be a significant improvement and then we could talk about what to do about those who are here peacefully working but without papers.
There ARE, however, a whole bunch of people who contribute nothing to the discussion except insults and vitriol, who only blame President Bush and ignore previous presidents' and Congress failures, and who seem to primarily post in order to cause dissension and disruption. Those, I believe, are mostly democrats.

Yes...I like what you said, that if we could get the security at the border nailed down...and make it to where any illegal that breaks the law, regardless of the severity, is deported after jail if applicable...should be enough to satisfy both sides...
However there is this little problem called, "an election year"....and the dems are never going to agree to anything that President Bush or the Reps are FOR...
Unfortunately, there are enough Republicans that are split on this sujbect that it is going to not only affect what happens immediately, but all the way through the summer and into the Nov. elections, IMHO>

I also want to ask these freeper engineers about what I have heard about ethanol causing plastic parts to deteriorate or rot and therefore can lead to costly engine repairs.
