Look at the Club For Growth. Good for electing Reagan/Gingrich style Republicans and defeating RINOs.

I've heard of the Club for Growth and their battles against RINO's, but as far as immigration "reform" goes, aren't they backing the Shamnesty/Amnesty legislation?

I've read that former Rep. Toomey, who is now heading the Conservative Club of Growth, is in the open-borders crowd and personally backs this Shamnesty/Amnesty legislation. I may be wrong on this, but I've read on other FR immigration posts that Toomey is an open-borders guy.

I've went to their website and didn't find any immigration news on there or see what their stand on immigration "reform" is. Could you please post any link you may have as to what the Conservative Club for Growth's position on this Shamnesty/Amnesty legislation is, since I couldn't find it when I perused their website. Thanks.

God bless them. But if they ARE Americans, why would frist of the Pres. even listen to them--they only hear the voice of fox.

Good question. They don't seem to be listening to any Americans lately, other than those who want either the cheap labor of illegals or those who want the potential votes of illegal aliens (not counting those illegals who are already voting, BTW).

I can't see anything good at all, either short or long term, coming out of this Shamnesty/Amnesty legislation for the GOP, Conservatives and the American People in granting citizenship to potentially 40 million+ illegals and their family members (approximately 11 million+ illegals plus 29 million+ family members) living in their home countries, who will be allowed to immigrate here to be united with the illegal already here.

Anyone who thinks that more then 10% of these 40 million+ illegals and their family members will ever vote GOP is very delusional or smokes crack cocaine!!!

But will that bonehead listen?

They may not listen to either their complaints or ours, but you can bet that Frist and the rest will hear from RNC officials as the RNC money coffers start to dry up if they continue to push this Shamnesty/Amnesty legislation and refuse to listen to us and as more and more of us refuse to donate money to them.

As the old saying goes, "Money speaks louder than words"!

359Henrie, if you and others you know want to send a message to the RNC that they will hear loud and clear, then see my post #8.

You can send these in their postpaid envelopes until h - ll freezes over. They don't care what you do any more than they care about using tax money wisely or solving the illegal immigration problem.

If you really want to get their attention AND get off their g'd mailing list, picket one of their buildings. After I spent two hours outside the "Ronald Reagan Center" at 425 2nd ST NE and then wrote a letter telling them that I was the guy there calling Bush a pseudoconservative and them hacks, they FINALLY took me off their mailing lists.

425 2nd ST NE is an easy walk (two blocks) from Union Station just off Mass Ave headed northeast. There's a gas station just around the corner at 2nd ST and Mass Ave for refreshments and they may let you park there if you drove and if they have space. (Or take the subway or park on the street--if you're not there more than two hours, you won't violate the resident parking restrictions.)

When you're doing your protest, be sure to spend some time at the back of their building where the courtyard is. When the smokers congregate there, they'll be able to hear what you say. And while you're there, be sure and tell 'em the fat guy sent you. They'll know who you're talking about.

I've heard of the Club for Growth and their battles against RINO's, but as far as immigration "reform" goes, aren't they backing the Shamnesty/Amnesty legislation?

They impose no position on amnesty/immigration, abortion, sodomy marriage, etc. They're about cutting spending, cutting taxes, deregulation, school choice. It just so happens that most of their candidates are anti-amnesty/illegals, anti-abortion, anti-sodomy marriage.

A little perspective from a summary on SaveTheGOP.com:
Every Republican who voted for the anti-527 bill that passed today is either one of two things. 1.) A coward, or 2.) A fool who was duped by the RNC.

And yes, that includes Congressman Tom Tancredo, who sadly abandoned the principles that he normally stands tall on and caved to the party establishment.

One thing needs to be made abundantly clear. This bill was not aimed at silencing liberals and their organizations. This is merely the cover that was used as the excuse to round up support among Republicans who wish to give us a tactical advantage in upcoming elections.

The true target of this bill was movement conservatives, particularly one group alone: The Club for Growth.

Ken Mehlman, Karl Rove, and the other leaders of the Republican party hate and fear Pat Toomey and the Club for Growth because they hold Republicans accountable to conservative principles.

The Club for Growth - in 2002 and 2004 - got involved in Republican primaries across the country, and largely due to their bundled donations and independent expenditures, caused real movement conservatives to win primary elections over establishment Republican squishes.

Victorious candidates such as Tom Coburn, Jim DeMint, Mark Sanford as well as losing candidates such as Pat Toomey and Herman Cain all were able to compete with the overpowering resources of the Republican establishment based on support from the Club for Growth.
We have tripled our membership since 2004. We are ready to return to the broad Reagan/Gingrich agenda. And we are targetting RINOs for defeat. Lincoln Chafee is dead in our sights right now and we will beat him. Our goal is to make Specter the last RINO that the party establishment can save from upholding the conservative agenda.

My own 2007 congressman, who just won his primary and therefore the fall election, is quite willing to close the borders and absolutely opposes an amnesty. He was one of the eight Club candidates so far this year. That's good enough for me. If the Club For Growth was picking pro-amnesty candidates, they made a very bad mistake with him.  ; )

Funny, how we tend to believe polls when they work in our favor, but when comes out saying people dont support the war or Bush we shout MSM BS ALERT! Hmmm...just a thought.

You want to send a message to the RNC that they will hear loud and clear??? Then do the following: Send them one of these instead of a donation, using the RNC's own postage paid return envelopes!!!

I saw this suggestion awhile ago and printed a bunch off. Well, today I actually got to use this tactic and I LAUGHED as I did it because this is the only thing that has any chance of working. All the polls in the world showing 80% opposition to the Senate and President's amnesty proposal doesn't register. But, the bottom line is still that.

We also had a primary earlier this week in Nebraska and when someone called to ask me to vote for a particular candidate, I asked their position on illegal immigration. When the caller stumbled, I informed them that was my #1 issue - seal the borders, fine the employers, and deport the criminals - NO AMNESTY!

I aslo support the Club for Growth, and in particular we should thank the Club for Growth for getting behind Tom Coburn, who has been a fabulous Senator and one of the few, brave budget-cutters in the post Phil Gramm era.

I printed off a bunch of "pesos" for some other conservatives at work the other day who are as ticked off at these Amnesty/Shamnesty proposals as we are, but aren't into Free Republic or the internet that much. They're going to send them off when the next RNC donation solicitation comes in.

The message on those pesos is perfect for those of us who oppose the Shamnesty/Amnesty proposals. Those pesos are really beginning to be popular. Hopefully, when the RNC sees that they are getting more pesos than "real" dollars, they will get the message and actually do what 80% of the population wants done (NO SHAMNESTY/AMNESTY).

Tom Coburn is a real star for the GOP. I'm sure they're planning ways to get rid of him. : )

Ah, came home late. Off to bed.
