Why does a lot of this sound like the Democrat talking points from people who are supposed to be Republicans.
I can understand people being mad about immigration. But some of this other stuff reeks of the Dems.

The problem is that you have included all the "kooks and nutters" who voted for Bush...and there most assuredly are some...yet they are niether representative of the "conservative movement " or any other legitimate political faction other than the "fringe lunacy".

This faction finds voice in all types of forums from public squares and parks to internet chat rooms like this "open air asylum". Sane adults recognize their easy-to-spot erratic behavior on sight and reject their claims to legitamacy out of hand.

Thus, your carefully framed observations that these kooks represent "the comservative movement" is pure crap.

I know most of you are GW supporters. I voted for him twice.
What I see with all of his missteps are the same when Clinton was President. His(Clinton's) base was behind him 100% no matter how awful he was. And everybody here made fun of them(Dem's) for supporting the lying, immoral president he was.
Sorry but Bush, IMHO, has been out of touch with the American people for quite some time and no longer deserves my support. He cannot be elected again and my sights are set on a whole new approach to returning the US of A back to being the great country it used to be.

1. The President deserves our support because he is commander-in-chief and we are at war.

I don't know much about the author of this article; well actually I know nothing of the author, but I have to almost totally agree with him. I have been a dyed-in-the-wool Republican and rabid W support, that is until lately, and I know for sure that I am not alone. I was willing to overlook much of what i disagreed with the president on (spending, Medicare drug bill to name a few) because I trusted his judgment. But the fiasco that is going on with our Mexican border being left wide open and his inability or unwillingness to do anything about it has caused me to rethink my position. I have never been so angry with a Republican administration in my adult life and will seriously consider a third-party vote if the administration doesn't wake up. He (they) have to decide if they are in Washington to represent the CITIZENS of this country, or are they there to represent the ILLEGALS and their sponsors, namely American business who turn a blind eye to hiring illegals just to save a buck. I've woken up...lets up for all of our sakes that the Republican party at large wakes up too.

As I read though I thought a lot of the posts sounded kinda' DUish.

Although I agree with the general tone of the article.

Spending (don't give me that homeland security crap, it's pork), Borders (secure now), Illegals (deport now) and size of government. Taxes, we'll see how this one plays out in the next few weeks.
