Yup...a no brainer. Wonder if this "abuse" was reported to Mexico?
The fine has got to hurt to be effective. It can't be "worth the risk". Isn't there a $10,000 fine for a bad I-10 form? If it's falsified, I'd hope to see prosecution.
I thought I was the only bubblehead in TN.
Got a zip code for that?
That's why businesses want illegals here -- so they can get cheap labor.
The couple have an anchor baby, so they will be just fine.
Agreed! I don't have an ounce of sympathy for these criminals. Fine her employer and send these people packing. (And multiply this scenario by 12 million.)
"Send them home and fine the employer."
Boo Hoo! You are so cruel.
Sarcasm off!
An illegal/socialist hotbed ?
also WORTH NOTING, her baby may hae a claim to US citizenship but it goes back with the parents as with ALL MINORS.
The law does not allow for anchor babies any more. (law signed by Bill Clinton)
This law has the right conclusion.
Perhaps we should have a requirement that ALL CIVIL suits have a legal status claim.
Just as now plaintiffs have to assert the defendant is not on active duty in the military service.
Thus you would have to say in any civil complaint "Plaintif is a legal resident of the United States and has not overstayed any visa status."
or
"Plaintiff is a legal vistitor to the United States ans has not overstayed any visa status."
and you require a judge to report any purjury to that statement.
Also it makes it an issue in any legalization mercy/amnesty claim.
Anchor babies outlawed by immigration reform signed by bill clinton.
Minor children go back with the deported parents.
Children follow the parents.
The Dream act is an explicit effort to reinstate the anchor baby.
Isn't there also "very well-established law" that National soverignity is protected by Federal immigration statutes and aren't these laws just as deserving of enforcement?
Waa Waa! I want you to follow the law and pay me minimum wage!
""There's very well-established law that workers, documented or not, are protected by state and federal wage and hour laws, discrimination laws and by the right to organize a union," said Marci Seville, Cano's lawyer and a professor at Golden Gate University Law School in San Francisco. "There's protection against retaliation, but people get very frightened about asserting their rights."
Obvious message: Enforcement of immigration laws must be stopped because immigation laws have a disproportionate impact on those who violate them in obtaining workers' rights.
ping
"The couple have an anchor baby, so they will be just fine."
Nope. The child can claim US citizenship after she/he turns 21 but it's parents cannot ever legally obtain citizenship because they will be deported. The laws will have to change for them to legally join their child in the US.
Cano and her husband, Carlos Barrancos, illegal immigrants from Mexico, were reported to federal authorities in November. Cano was eight months pregnant at the time and gave birth to their baby in San Francisco alone -- while Barrancos was in an Arizona immigration jail.Hmmm, give me a minute to ponder their plight...
Cano apesadumbrado, apenas no doy una maldición. Consiga tan sus nalgas traseras mojadas de nuevo a México - y rápido.
"An illegal/socialist hotbed ?"
Yeah, San Fransisco.
Here's a question..if these illegals do gain legal status, then their employer will HAVE to pay them minimum wage or more. They'll have to get full benefits, etc. So, who is going to do the cheap labor then?
No sir. There's another bubblehead named Bill Frist who is triumphantly trumpeting a revival of the amnesty bill in the Senate, plus the appointment of beaucoup RINO's and Dumbs to negotiate with the House.
And no border security in sight.
Bill O'Reilly told Frist last night that if border protection isn't in whatever bill is proposed, the Republican party will virtually cease to exist.
