The drive-by media is already preparing the spin.

You bet. CNN has a headline "Confidence in Economy Dips". However it appears they cherry-picked the poll results.

If you can stomach it the article is here

Look at the way the Dow skyrockets the moment the Republicans took the House.

Could one Republican politician, anywhere, please make this argument?

"Gold is a concern."

I'd put it another way and say that currency fluctuations are always a concern, however, my disdain was aimed at the gold missionaries who come on here hawking it like "single issue voters!" They litteraly drive one nuts! They just go on... and on... and on...

Well, whether you were cherry picking or not, you are using the highest point in the bubble to go from. And it was a bubble. Nothing more than exuberant irrational stock market.

That's the plan. (let the next generation take care of it - I just hope they can keep juggling until the next generation is ready)

And it worked great for FDR, LBJ and Tip Oneal.

Any good news is something to cheer about, even if there are worrisome undercurrents.

I don't know what to make of that, it is obvious that with no increase in land area and a huge increase in population and more land being taken by the Federal GOOBERment the percentage of people owning large tracts cannot possibly be increasing.

And as those in rural areas are being forced into the pismire existance of the urban-apartment rabbit warrens.

Good for a few, sad for many.
