Barones a good read. Maybe the Republicans ARE just holding a pair of deuces... but that still beats 5 cards of NOTHING. It beats impeachment and jihadist victory that will come in Iraq if this current group of Democrats ever take power. It beats having the likes of Nancy Pelosi, John Conyers, Jack Murtha, John Kerry, Chuck Schumer, Pat Leahy & Barbara Boxer holding sway over the nation.

This weekend I was at a party on the Hill, and they really don't get it. I am not encouraged. But hey, its only May. I think that you have hit the nail on the head. The political class is out of touch with the electorate. The Democrats are comforted by the reports from their friends in the press. The Republicans can't see dissatisfaction with government translating to votes for Democrats. Both may be wrong. An angry mob usually turns on those in authority, bad news for incumbents and the Republicans have more of them.

These thing are very delicate! We can't throw our hands up and turn it all over to the demoscums,we have to get rid of the rinos by replacing them with true onservatives, not liberal demos, this takes years, remember even with the RINOS we put two conservatives on the SCOTUS.I don't like a lot of what the POTUS or the REPUBS are doing but the idiot DEMS will do so much worse. It takes 20+ years to get rid of a supreme court justice.

OTOH it's eight months out from the election- plenty of time to get some "momentum" going.
Frankly it would be pathetic if we were fired up eight months ahead of the elections. There are other things in life to think about.

I am disgusted at how the Republicans have squandered almost every opportunity. However, I keep thinking of two words, "Supreme Court." If the Democrats make great progress in 2006 and win in 2008, you can forget about the Second Amendment, the First Amendment will only be used to protect pornography and terrorist communications, and foreign terrorists will be granted more protections than are granted a Kennedy.

But if you are a "real conservative" the Republicans must be taught a lesson, no matter what the outcome might be.

Or, perhaps he was picking up on a late surge that favored Republicans. Most observers believe this is what happened thanks to superior organization, better use of money, and a very effective get out the vote effort. Do you think this is likely to repeat in 2006?

IRAQ IS NOT THE ISSUE... ILLEGALS ARE THE ISSUE... I wish the media would stop lying about this.

More likely RINO propaganda to make us vote for the less of two evils. I'm tired of always voting against somebody rather than for somebody.

for some GOP koolaid drinkers here its all or none approach. of course those GOP candidates who support conservative Ideas will get support - it's just hard to find any. As for the RINOS and GOP with mehlman will not get one dime or vote from me. The spectacle and precedent of Spector's PA senate race ended the idea that a GOP RINO is better than a solid conservative..BUSH and Santorum jumped the shark there.

Well, first I had a good friend of mine, defend Patrick Kennedy. And he is a Republican who used to work in the Senate and is now a lobbyist. Then he proceeded to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the GOP base and that everything was fine. He totally ignored anything to do with illegal immigration. I had to just discontinue my conversation with him because he is really clueless to what people are thinking outside the Beltway.

I'm tired of always voting against somebody rather than for somebody. Understandable.
But, sometimes you have to play the cards you're dealt.

Absolutely! I thought I did not need to add sarcasm note!

It won't matter who the next President is. Whoever it is, he will take us closer to New World Order, and the complete destruction of US sovereignty. You will vote for A or for B, or C who is conservative and will represent the proverbial wasted vote. A and B will appear superficially distinct, but will in fact both be owned by the New World Order elite club, and will do their bidding. So stay home, or go vote, it will not make a difference, it is a fool's errand, and an exercise in futility. You hope to get someone who will return to conservative principles but it will not happen at election time. We are going to get the New World Order no matter who is in office and there is nothing we can do about it.
