According to a reporter yesterday, maybe NPR, Negroponte gets massages twice a week. (Should be enough to get him fired.)

A Friday announcement on the sudden end of Goss is a sure sign that the WH was trying to low cycle this news story.

The British press gives new meaning to the term "yellow journalism."

This is based on the NY Daily News "scoop," with just a wee bit of a caveat --

"Intelligence and law enforcement sources said solid evidence had yet to emerge that Goss also went to the parties, but Goss and Foggo share a fondness for poker and expensive cigars, and the FBI investigation was continuing."

Aha! Guilt by association with cigars and poker! Hang him!

The infantile whining and backbiting emanating from current and former Langley-ites is proof enough the CIA needs a major housecleaning. Is this the mentality we want in those charged with preventing another 9/11?

Larry Johnson is the f-ing intelligence genius who wrote a New York Times editorial 2 monthw prior to 911 that terrorism is not a threat to the US. Real smart

Yeah, but he wrote it for the New York Times. That makes him an "expert".

:-)

The only real news in this entire article is that Goss may have attended a poker game.

Then why did the President of the United States have Goss sitting beside him in the Oval Office and make the announcement himself, then say good things about him? Strange, strange lowballing. NOT.

Because Dubya has a LOT of class. Even if it only appears that Goss has an ethical problem, that is sufficient to ask for his resignation from such an important position.

I'm sure there was a good reason the White House didn't discuss WHY he "resigned."

Better watch your backside there newbie.

Just a rumor, but I heard that Foggo's mom was involved in Hookergate as well.

You lost me somewhere in there.

I don't think he asked for his resignation and I don't think it has to do with hookergate.Time will tell, but already there are stories that unnamed WH officials are saying no to the hookergate speculation.

Instead, I think it was planned by Goss and Bush.

Go here and scroll down to stories about Michael Hayden and Porter Goss.

Macsmind - News, Conservative Commentary and Common Sense

http://macsmind.blogspot.com/

But mainly, I had replied to a post suggesting that Bush was trying to play down this event by doing it on Friday. Because, it was implied, that Goss has done something wrong. I said Bush was not trying to bury it in a Friday newscycle or else he would not have hyped it to the max by having Goss by his side in the Oval Office.

Class act or not. If you want to play down a resignation, you do not have the President announce it himself with the guy sitting right next to him in the Oval. Period.

Yeah, but he wrote it for the New York Times. That makes him an "expert".

I particularly "appreciate" the last "bullet" comment about the containment of terrorism from his July 2001 story. Wonder how almost 3000 other "folks" would "appreciate" the writings of this "expert".

July, 2001 Johnson piece

Thanks for the link.

It had lots of charts and graphs and other cool statistics, and was well written and persuasive.

Unfortunately it was very very wrong.

Has Johnson learned anything from his stupidity?

I guess he is so stupid he couldn't even handle that.

Much anger. Mom involved in Hookergate?

It was well-known that Porter Goss was in his job only until he had taken out the garbage.

This was no surprise. Stop spreading false innuendo.

Then why is this even a story? Oh, that's right... this is the MSM!
