It is the same disinfranchised Pat Buchanan nut bags.

They scream like the liberal stuck pigs. Don't sweat it, they mean nothing.

I mean this in the nicest possible way - but you are a fool to believe any change can be accomplished through the primaries. Check the statistics - primaries are only meaningful for selecting a challenger or an open-seat. They are completely ineffective for removing an incumbent.

So, when the going gets tough, ....... whine and curl yourself up into the fetal positon?

I mean this in the nicest possible way - but that is the philosophy of a loser.

If there is a hot button issue that has over 70% approval by the American voter, that can be turned into political power by grassroots organizations raising money and funding primary challangers that will take advantage of the incumbent's weakness and go for his throat.

Given a primary choice between Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, the average American voter will yawn and vote for the incumbent so that he does not have to bother to memorize another name.

Given a choice about an issue he really cares about, the average American voter will abandon the incumbent just as America abandoned the Whig Party in the 1850's.

We are at war.

Really? Which front are you referring to? The one if the M.E. or the one at home? Here's the irony - within a few generations, the US will have the same number of enemies as Mexico. If the Iranians aren't upset with Mexico today, why should they be upset with a northern Mexico in the future?

I would vote for McCain against a number of dems, but I surely would have to pinch my nose against the smell...it would not make me happy.

I hope you are not operating under the assumption that the majority of GOP voters give any more thought to voting than pulling the party lever, as the Dems do. Incumbency rules.

If folks are looking for true-blue conservative Republican candidates to help, here's a very important one that will be decided in only two weeks:

http://www.billsali.com/

Bill Sali is a conservative stalwart. He's stood strong for the entire conservative agenda in Boise for 16 years. He's proven. Bigtime.

He's running for the open seat being vacated by Butch Otter, who will be the next Governor.

It is a very crowded primary, and if conservatives don't act NOW, they're going to get a RINO in this very important naturally conservative district.

A RINO woman, Sheila Sorensen, will win if conservatives don't get behind Bill Sali now and push hard.

If we can succeed, Bill Sali will make a fantastic addition to Mike Pence's Republican Study Committee in the House.

Time to check the results again. It's now up to 18.8%. That's almost 1 in 5 here on Free Republic.

I am assuming that most of these are deciding to vote for a third party candidate or sit the election out. The poll only has two choices, so it's not really clear.

This needs attention paid to it. It's all well and good to call those in that 18.8% names, but that does not change the situation.

I have worse news for you. The numbers would have been worse if the poll had included the option "I will work to advance conservative principles through a third party".

Oh, that option is included. It's right there with "give it back to the 'Rats."

Voting all the 'Demopublicans' out of office is the only solution. After all the politicians have been voted out of office, then lock down our borders and deport all the illegals. Amend the law so that local police can turn illegals over to the INS immediately. Build the fence now! Deport border jumpers. Turn the FBI and INS loose on employers that hire illegals. That means YOU, Mr. homeowner hiring border jumpers. Declare a National Emergency related to border security. That ought to keep Americans employed in law enforcement and fence building jobs for the next ten years.

It's real simple Folks =

"Together we stand, or we fall apart. m.t." Fair weather friends are at the front of the line when things are going well, but if things need some work - they book

This has to be handled at the primary level. Throw out the liberal and/or weakkneed Republicans and replace them with conservatives.

Rino on FR used to mean "republican in name only"

rino on FR now means "any republican who does not support a badass fence on the mexican border and stiff employer sanctions for hiring illegals and deportation of all illegals here and possibly using machine guns and mine fields too"

They have completely abandoned conservative principles - they're only interest is in doing whatever it takes to stay in power (ironic that this is what will cause them to lose power).

Truer words have never been posted. Many Republicans in the Washington DC political class have STILL not come to grips with the fact that the dinosaur "mainstream" press holds (increasingly) less sway than the new media. These simpletons STILL dance to the tune of a dying institution, ie., they run from the liberal newspapers like scared bunny rabbits.

Screw 'em - - if they're too stupid to figure it out even after the Republicans have attained near-total dominance over the past 12 years, then we principled conservatives need to be willing to take a step backwards in order to clean out the pandering moderate debris so that we can ultimately take many more steps forward.

Regards,
LH

Sure Republicans have messed up. But I know that the Democrats would do a lot worse. Vote Republican! (At least in national stuff)

Excuse me .. how do we know the 13% are conservatives, or even republicans ..??

What a stupid thread.

Why can't people see the positive side: more than 80% are willing to work even harder to get more conservative people into office.
