Yeah but the Rat Debbie Stabenow never says one word about where she stands on amnesty for the 20 million that are here taking our jobs already.

Most polls we've seen before suggest the choices are: 1. do nothing, 2. have an immediate round-up/deportation of all illegals. This CIS-commissioned poll offers reasonable choices. Mark Kirkorian, who heads the CIS (by the way, he is not some extremist but is a regular and respected commentator on the New Republic's on-line web site), advocates stopping the influx of illegals and letting attrition whittle down the illegal population. This is a safe, sane, and economical way to handle the problem. If you haven't, I suggest you inform yourself of the facts by reading his paper on this approach at
http://www.cis.org/articles/2006/back406.html
Failure to stop this invasion from Mexico makes a farce of our other national security efforts. For example, why spend billions on missile defense shields or on radiation detectors for US ports when the "back-door" to the US is wide open and un-monitored. I'm not surprised by Democrap pandering on this issue, but to have Bush and RINOs look the other is reprehensible.

You were wrong about Harriet Miers, wrong about the Dubia Ports Deal and you are wrong if you think immigration will not be a major issue in the November elections. You were suckered on the Dubai ports deal. Have you heard of the Doncasters deal? If you haven't, look it up, then come tell me why it's worse for a Dubai company to shuffle paperwork at ports terminals than it is for a Dubai company to own plants which manufacture critical parts for M-1 tanks.
LOL!! I have to laugh at you fools who dance to Chuck Schumer's tune when he pushes your xenophobic buttons.

CFS may have commissioned the poll, but it was taken by Zogby International - one of the best polling methods in the world. On election morning, Nov. 2, 2004, Zogby said it was absolutely certain that John Kerry would be elected president.
Is that prediction indicative of a reputable polling company?

"...81 percent of Republicans, 72 percent of Independents, 57 percent of Democrats, and 53 percent of Hispanics supporting the enforcement-only House bill."
What Zogby didn't mention is that half of the 47 percent of hispanics not supporting enforcement-only, are illegal aliens. They were counted, because they are likely to vote. ;-)
Seriously, this is likely to provide opportunities for challenger candidates (from both parties, maybe even third parties) to make inroads against incumbents.

"You were wrong about Harriet Miers..."
Maybe sinkspur can tell us all about how Harriet Miers WILL get a hearing and she WILL be confirmed, regardless of what closet-liberals Ann Coulter, Charles Krauthammer, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Bill Kristol, George F. Will, and on and on and on have to say.

Harriett Miers pulled out. You knew that, of course.
Do you know anything about the Doncaster's deal?

It has to. At the very least, the anti-illegal immigration candidates will get the subject on the table and all will have to give their opinions more indepth than in the past. This is a very good thing and the best grassroots effort I've seen at forcing the politicos to tackle an issue.

CNN had a really disturbing poll out tonight with over half the Republicans not supporting the President. He has totally disillusioned the conservative base of the party with his insistence on amnesty and bringing in twice as many legal immigrants on top of that, and the GOP will pay dearly for his stubborness. Several good guys will be sacrificed when they lose in Nov. because of his pig-headedness.
To: sinkspur
I don't dance to Chucky Shummers song. Nor am I a bot like yourself. You and the other bots were wrong about supporting Harriet Miers, wrong to support the Dubia Port deal and you will be wrong about the effect the this immigration will have on the conservative base.
Polls are overwhelming against you and the Bot position.
Heck, you can even look at the poll here on FR concerning the immigration issue.
41% support Bush's policy and the rest either say they will stay home or vote for a third party... and that poll
is right here on this site. Bush's policy on immigration is even in the minority on this great site.
To: tennmountainman
Looks like Bush, the GOP Senate and Of Course Democrats are all on the wrong side of this issue. I don't beleive it.
NO POLITICIAN is going to order mass deportations.

Maybe you will become a believer when you see the results of this immigration policy with a major part of the conservative base.

When the numbers against free-trade were that high, you know what they did? They shut up and quietly shelved them, never to hear of them again..
