Chena, it's really not that hard.

I'm going to try to simplify it for you.

I support the death penalty in theory, but in reality it has too many flaws.

well...this opens a real can of worms.....hostage taking in efforts to gain his release....suicidal attacks to pressure for his release....every 6 months we have to hear from him in efforts for a retrial....$35,000 per year bed and meals, for a least 30 yrs....what is the point of keeping him alive????

...an evil man who would be happy to see every American, including his own defense attorneys, be murdered.

I'd be happy to see his defense attorneys murdered, after their little celebration. And you can add to that any jurors who voted to spare this piece of excrement.

WHY ARE THE JURISTS SUCH IDIOTS??? WHY? What happened? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!!!

Excellent points.

If this wasn't a death penalty case, then I don't know what is.

He'll DIE in jail...

Keep him in the general population and he won't last a week.

As opposed to 45 million abortions... all innocent, for convenience.

Good has become evil, and evil is now good. Funny, I seem to remember something about times like this.....

I'm all for reforming the prison system. If you have a viable plan as to how our prisons could be reformed in "under a year", please give us the secret plan and the decoder ring that goes with it. One of the problems you will face, is that Liberals will NOT allow you to make the prisons tougher.

ZM: "America, I won. You lost."

I have been watching this on TV, and I am appalled!!!! This should never have been allowed in civilian court. Military trial would have fried his ass by now. The jury felt sorry he had a rough childhood so they gave him life??? One juror felt he was a victim of racism??? One thought he had been a good boy in jail?? UGH!!! 3,000 Americans don't get to have a life, thanks to this animal. What about them?

Those 9 jurors are cowards. If this animal doesn't deserve death, who does? This is a disgrace. Totally disgusted.

It is ironic that Shelby Steele wrote an article about how white guilt has caused us not to be able to fight this war to win. Today, 9 jurors proved him right. PC gone wild. Damn it all to hell. I am sick.

With the death penalty, this guy would be a martyr for the AQ cause.

I really don't understand the point of this argument. EVERY Al Qaeda nutjob becomes a martyr when killed in the war on terror. That should not be a consideration when deciding what to do with the bastards. We should hasten their delivery into glorious martydom...every last f---ing one of them.

My comment was somewhat based on an article I read where the judge was not so sure this guy really knew much about the 9/11 atack prior to it happening.

Since this guy was not directly involved in the planning and execution of the attacks, I am not surprised he got life. I was not commenting on his guilt.

But the defense attorneys in this case shouldn't be celebrating their victory in keeping their client from the death penalty.

I just saw the younger defense attorney give his first interview on The Big Show. He didn't appear to be celebrating. Maybe you've seen something I haven't - I just got home from work and didn't see the verdict read or anything - but I didn't see celebrating.

For our system to work, someone has to represent the worst among us. IIRC, these guys were court appointed.

LOL! "Plugs" said that? LOL!

Unfortunately, depending on where ZM goes, he'll likely be surrounded by supporters.

I'm so very against the death penalty...I'm o.k. with life.

Welcome to FR, Tish G. The victims of 9/11 were "o.k. with life" too.

Let him out on parole and he wouldn't make it to the parking lot.
