I will vote for Hillary or anyone else running against McCain. If McCain and the rest of the Republicans don't start dealing seriously with illegal immigration, taxes, Social Security and other issues I'm going third party or staying home.Did you misspeak?

I have serious reservations about McCainTrust your instincts.
DON'T trust a Washington reporter with an obvious man-crush.
To: jacquej
NEVER McCain. It isn't possible to be a worse candidate than Hillary, but McCain comes close.

I am not fond of McCain, personally. I worry that he is unstable, to put it politely. But, the entire article is interesting. We do need someone who will inspire the base and the independents to vote Republican, and some of the more conservative Dems to cross over.
Who could that be?
John McCain inspires the base to upchuck from the toes.

Which is why I re-post my comments from that thread, which have not changed:
Here are the reasons McPain will never be, and SHOULD never be President: a.) Mentally unstable. b.) The epitome of 'RINO'. c.) Communist suckup, especially with his old captors the North Vietnamese, and when he says "my good friend John Kerry", he really MEANS it. d.) Questionable health, he's had skin cancer twice that we know of. e.) Age, he would be even older than Ronald Reagan IF he were to somehow be elected which immediately translates to "instant lame duck". f.) And the most important reason of all, he has no respect for the Constitution with his attack on free speech via McPain/Foolsgold. Ask Jim Robinson if you need more details on that. ;) Need more? His ego alone gives Mt. Everest a run for it's money. McPain? uh uh, ain't no way, no how.

McCain has lived by the MSM and he will die by the MSM. Reagan didn't care what the press said about him. He had his ideas and communicated them directly to the American people. How does this relate at all to the pandering McCain? I'm confused about how your post relates to my suggestion that George Allen would make a good candidate.

'Freakin' lunatic' is right. Is this a great country or what? When a lunatic can raise money by the millions to run for President and yet reveal who he is -- never mind. We elected a narcissistic sociopath twice, Clinton. God help us all.

I was under the impresion that his arms were screwed up as a result of being shot down in Vietnam serving our country, but I could be wrong.
You can call him a lunatic (I am sometimes tempted to agree with that) but the sock puppet thing is rather classless.

Sometimes I don't know what to say. The nation is in desperate need of another Reagan and I hope one rises up.

Whatever happened to the recall effort for McCain that was being mounted a few years ago?
I was hopeful.

Reagan criss-crossed the country for years, doing the chicken dinner circuit. He'd give his standard conservative speech, small govt., morning in America, etc. to small town audiences. Nobody paid attention except conservatives, and they loved him, believed in him. He built a base. What you saw is what you got. He was real. Honest. He was on a mission, God love him. We were so lucky.

Sorry if the sock puppet remark offended. I had no idea his arms were screwed up from being shot down. So I'll take that back, but the rest stands.

Sorry, I missed it!
Only excuse is that I am busy raising some baby chicks and getting my garden started.
For those of you who think I support this writer's opinion, I don't. That said, my highest priority is making sure "her thighness" is not elected in '08, or any other democrat for that matter.

McCain has climbed in bed with democrats, Hill in particular. I'd like to say it's just senatorial politesse, but it's more than that.
