Dr. Laura is still mad at her mother. Either because she died or for the 'issues' relating to their estrangement. Too bad. I have a relative who is the same way. Regardless of those who think it is therapeutic to 'let it all hang out', I fail to see what good has been accomplished with this one sided account of a less than ideal childhood. At some point in our lives, we accept responsibility for what we have made of ourselves regardless of adverse beginnings. I have listened sporadically to Dr. Laura over the years and found her advice excellent at times and downright mean at others. I hope she finds peace now.

Clearly, Dr. Laura is the one who wants to make all of this PUBLIC. It's not like her parents wrote a book talking about what a bad daughter she was. So I think that Laura shouldn't have talked about this in public at all and gotten counseling instead. But yes, I'm always going to have a problem with someone who waits for someone to die before making accusations about that. The confrontation doesn't have to be public or even together, but I think it's wrong to slander someone after their death when they have no chance to defend themselves. And it's not like Dr Laura hadn't written a bunch of books before.... but she waited until her parents died to accuse them. EXCELLENT points!

I used to listen to Dr Laura years ago. I quit when she casually admitted that she bathed her (then thirteen year old) son. I thought that she needed counseling more than I needed her advice.
I wonder how her son has turned out?
