I wonder what Turkey will do if it becomes a NATO operation?

I suggest that if we attack Iran, we do it by MIRV.

Wait a minute...how did Turkey know the U.S. was going to attack Iran anyway?

Same story, different country. Some "allies" we have there.

despite the U.S. offer of a nuclear reactorMaybe we should have offered them two third-round picks and next year's second-rounder.

Exactly, and what are the repurcausions of airing our plans? Then again, didn't a democrat senator tell Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq of our plans in 2002?

They'll bitch and moan and then fall into line.
Besides we don't really need them. We've got all the bases we need right on Irans border.
Crank up the 'buffs boys.

The Turkish govt wouldn't let us us our bases as staging points for the invasion of Iraq either.
This doesn't come as a total surprise. The Turkish govt has become less than cooperative with the US in the last 5 years.
Myabe we should leave Turkey out of our next foreign aid package as a thank you for all their "help" to us.
To: jazusamo
Why is anyone surprised about this? This "moderate" Muslim "democracy" gets more radicalized every election. Hide and watch what happens in Turkey while we keep on cleaning out the Middle East.

It is ridiculous that we have bases in turkey, when we can never use them when they are needed most. How dumb is that.
To: jmc1969
Well, we could do nothing. Let Iran build it's bomb...to bomb "you know who" Thus launching a world war in which Turkey and most of the rest of the world glows with radioactive sludge for 1,000's of years.
To: jmc1969
Well, yawn - they didn't let us attack Iraq from their country either. We still got the job done.
