Let's call this sport "Sharia Rules Womens Volleyball."
Of course the referee would be obligated under Islamic law and custom to decapitate any female body part or appendage that becomes exposed during play. If the female player's ankle is exposed while spikng the volleyball, off with her offending foot. If a player's hijab falls off during an extended volley and reveals her face to the spectators, well...then off with her head.
Of course, leave it to Nike to capitalize and perpetuate the denigration and repression of women in the Arab and Islamic world.
This is all too similar to Google and Yahoo! snitching out dissidents to the Chionese communists just for the opportunity to make a fast buck via China's internet. Pathetic.
This is a prime example of PC-multiculturalism run amok. Politically correct corporations like Nike design and sell products that only perpetuate the 3rd class status of Muslim women while making a profit at the same time.
Vladimir Lenin was a communist monster and despot but perhaps he did have a kernal of truth when he infamously stated "The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them."
Sadly enough, corporations like Nike, Google, Yahoo!, etc. only reinforce Lenin's maxim. What Nike is doing is making Sharia Law more palatable to the Western World.
Many pools have pretty strict rules about proper swimwear, i.e. no "cut-off" shorts, etc. The rules seem to be based on safety, hygiene, and pool-filter reasons.
Now is the Calgary T-shirt exception just another special privilege for death-cultists, or can anyone show up in T-shirt?
