"It is not clear where the funding for the new aircraft is coming from as in the current budget, announced by government in November last year, the army was allocated $6 trillion with 69 percent expected to be chewed by salaries and the rest going to operations."
Dang, who-da thunk a tin pot gangster like Mugabe could find 6 trillion dollars for his defense department in a looted country like Zimbabwe. A country that used to be the bread basket of Africa but now can't even feed itself. Think they slipped a few digits?;)

A sale from an Oriental despot to an African despot. A match made in Hell. Why did St. Cyril ever bother with the Slaves?

With people starving , this asshole is buying jet fighters. Dont send a dime to help the starving it only allows Mugabe more money to buy jets. It isnt appreciated anyway.

Didn't Sadam get the scuds from Russia? Did ANY of those things EVER hit their intended targets?

Do we give any aid to this country? Not any more nor is Great Britain. I forget when the USofA stopped but it was some years ago when Mugabe started to rustle not just cattle but the farms they lived on as well.
This purchase of fighters is such a laugh if it wasn't literally taking food away from the people. With inflation rate of 700 to 1000%, you know that Russia isn't accepting the native currency, Zimbabwean Dollar, but that means that whatever is paying for these comes directly from funds that should be used to feed the starving.
It wasn't the Garden of Eden when it was Rhodesia, but if given the chance, I'm stupid enough to wager that a fair vote would be tidal wave. Too late and spilt milk.
FYI it was the British Labor Governments and our own Carter Government who were rigidly for majority Black/native Rule that put this grand hunk of kleptocrat & murderer, Robert Mugabe, into power. In hindsight, which we are all subject to, this was almost certainly a bad thing.

Is there anyone Russia won't sell arms to? Good grief. They'd sell Kalishnikov's to my 4 year old if she had the ca$h.

Perhaps its $6 trillion in Zimbabwe currency, which probably isn't worth a Continental.

The Axis of Vodka widens.
As I said last week, the Russians would recognize the Manson family diplomatically if they could.
