I prefer to think Rush doesn't debate much because of two reasons.
1. Most libs are scared of him and won't show
2. He isn't cultured enough to call liberal bullsh*t by any other name, and that gets you censored on TV.

The RUSH bash is in full swing. Every day, different topic, but they just can't bash Rush enough.

All of this is an unfair comparison. Comparing Rush to Tony is like comparing a Mercenary to Special Forces. Special Forces are the best of the best but they are bound by the rules of warfare. A Merc, often, is as good as a SF but, because of their status, isn't bound by the rules of war.
Rush is in a position to 'tell it like it is' like a rogue warrior. Tony, in this position, is bound by the rules of decorum and representing his bosses.
Both positions are necessary and are needed for different angles of attack.

I respectfully disagree as to the reason Rush won't appear on TV.
He wisely won't allow himself to be ambushed...the way Sean Hannity does to many of his "guests"...and the way we see the conservative representative on for example, the TODAY SHOW.

Truth be told, I read Tony's article on Town Hall and he did take the President to task. Well deservedly.
Would you have FNC/Goler just ignore the article which appears TODAY.

I have the same gut feeling towards "Flight 93" that I did towards "The Passion of the Christ." Both are extremely emotional, heartbreaking, end in tragedy but express messages of hope.
"Passion" made huge amounts of money. Yes, it was a religious film, but many Christians are quiet about their fath.
I'm betting that "Flight 93" has a similar result. It might not make the money "Passion" did, but I'm betting the reactions people have towards it will hit the liberals in the voting booth where it really hurts.

Speaking of Hannity, Sen. Allen used Laura Ingram, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh but Rush didn't use Hannity's name when he played the remarks back.
Is the a problem between Rush and Sean as of late that I missed?

You're right. I'm just glad our bench is pretty deep when it comes to Conservative advocates. We're all missing Tony where he was, but we'll appreciate it in the future when he's battling the drive-by media with that Oh, so polite, show me where I'm wrong shtick he uses. Rush is pure frontal assault. And I love them both.

LOL - Senate cuts from Iraq fund to "beef up the border and ports" ... after President Bush threatened to veto if they kept adding pork. Basically they are calling the President on this.

To sum it up, Rush is right where he needs to be. Rush is great because he can be outrageous and he says what he wants, no holds barred.
You can't do that as the White House Press Secretary. You have to say what some other guy thinks and say it in a dignified manner at all times without letting a pool of reporters trick you into saying something you didn't mean. You have to wonder if Rush would even WANT to have to deal with that mess.
To: olde north church
I won't speak for Rush, but a lot of us have a big problem with Sean lately. My own area of disagreement is not ports or immigration per se, but the fact that he thinks any Conservative disagreement with him represents "kool-aide" thinking or some sort of "class" distinction. In some ways Sean does as much the populism thing--an example is HIS attacks on the oil companies--as the Conservative and he has spent some time bashing those of us who disagree. Still, I haven't totally given up on him because he, like us realize that a Republican victory is critical in November.
