I've loved Tony since he would sub for Rush. His voice could always calm me down, regardless of the kind of day I was having. He is class personified and he deserves every molecule of success he finds.

If this is true, WOW.

I will be praying for Tony and his family. Thank you and God bless you for willing "to stand in the line of fire" for the President, and God bless your family for supporting your decision.

If this is true, Press Briefings will now require popcorn! :^D

"They are gun shy with Iran and Syria. They let the French and Russians get away with backstabbing them at every turn."

And I suppose if it was up to you, well, we'd be runnin' low on nukes by now, right?

Agreed, odd that it was CNN to break this but nevertheless, who cares as long as Tony get's the job done.

Tony Snow works for FOXNews. It would be awkward if they break this news first.

Perhaps the Majority of us are able to honestly project joy and affection when a fellow Freeper receives a promotion based on merit? As Tony IS one of us.

Perhaps, also, not all of us that DO advocate border control are unable to grasp there are OTHER issues of concern that he will be a much needed advocate for on behalf of the administration?

Perhaps even though he may disagree on this one issue, there is the sentiment he'll at least be able to play devil's advocate to the president's circle in a manner that doesn't resemble Tancredo's so "endearing" personality traits that have the effect of causing more resistance? Thereby resulting in toned down offputting characterizations of those that want tighter control?

Perhaps despite the feelings that may exist about the stance of the administration on immigration...most of us don't hate, despise or wish them ill. And are genuinely happy the President will benefit from someone strong in communication skills?

Perhaps, as well, the majority of us would like to see one thread that should be full of well wishes for Tony uncantaminated by folks that simply cannot follow what they preach. In essence respecting the borders of the particular thread. This isn't an immigration thread.

(But please continue to believe as you do. Young enthusiam never hurts. But I suggest you drop the snide remarks, it makes you look petty.)

Pardon me, but your remarks are intelligent or smart???? If you're unhappy with the President, then become a democrat, no one here will stop you.

But you are sounding pretty petty yourself

Well, here is my advice, for what it's worth. I have learned over my lifetime that things happen for a purpose, and often that purpose isn't apparent to us until long after the event.

For example, I remember being so disheartened when the Senate wouldn't remove Clinton. But looking back, I realize that Gore would have been the incumbent and would probably have won, and the Republicans would have had the removal of a President hung around their necks. Gore would have been a disaster for this nation.

I trust the President, and I always will. He does his best given the times we are in, the hatefulness of the press and democrats, the attacks from Hollywood, the spinelessness and incompetence of so many in Congress.

I feel it is my duty to support him and I haven't given up on his getting more things done.

God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. Watch and see.

I can't recall the exact moment that this forum became a GOP rah rah club but I am guessing Spring of 2002.

I'm very happy for Tony but I and many folks who in the past have voted for the GOP have some pretty serious differences of opinion with him and other GOP moderates and the ever ubiquitous RINOs

All we can hope for now is to improve what we have ....a third party is not viable.

I do think Snow will do well in his new job. He's born for it actually from what I have seen.

George W Bush will be viewed historically like his daddy....with ambivalence.

Just my opinion

Out of curiosity---where should a conservative go if he is unhappy with the President?
