500 children of illegal immigrants. The legislation could cost the state more than $6 million a year if all the slots were filled. FYI, this is not a big deal and Bush mentioned the word "valedictorian". We are probably looking at the best of the best of the illegals children here.

Dear Jeb...
I will only support this bill if you can show me where the Illegals have paid their fair share of State and Federal Income taxes.

I've sent emails on this issue.
We have a friend who owns a home in Florida, but lives out of the country. When their daughter reaches college age, she will return and live in their home in order to go to college here. She'll have to pay "out of state" tuition for the first year until she establishes residency....even though they own a home and pay property taxes on the home she still will not be treated as an "in state" student.

I think we should require children of US citizens in Florida pick tomatoes on weekends to pay for the tuition of illegal immigrants.
That sounds fair to me.

And don't forget, these illegals will also get preferential admissions treatment because they contribute the glorious diversity that makes a university great.
/sarc., but the affirmative action advantage is all too real.
To: HEMICRASHBOX
The governor supports a bill that would grant in-state tuition waivers to at least 500 children of illegal immigrants. This is condoning illegal immigration.
