I believe the one thing this thread illustrates it that a significant part of the base believes Bush has failed them on the issue of illegal immigration as well as other key areas (the budget, energy, etc.).

This does not bode well for the 2006 elections.

"Actually, you will be responsible for the 2006 elections. You and tons of folks like you.

Just like you, President Bush gets one vote.

You will be responsible for the Democrats taking over power."

I haven't had my required dose of caffeine this morning, but let me try and understand the logic of the above:
When the electorate decides not to support a politician with their vote, because said politican not only fails to represent them in government, but actually acts against them , and aids/rewards illegal activity--it is the electorate's fault for deciding not to support said politician, rather than the actions of said politician.

Or, to use a recent example from Illinois: It wasn't George Ryan's (Republican) corruption that resulted in voters deciding not to support him (thus getting Rod Blago), but the fault of the voters recoiling at Ryan's corrupt activities ( Ryan was found guilty on all counts recently, BTW ).

Pardon me, but that reasoning is, IMHO, insane.

Please you are giving our politicians too much credit for being "conniving".

It's more likely sloth and indolence as they duck thier responsibilities in times of crisis. They are hardly "demons"...these so-called public servants. They certainly aren't "selling out" (that's dialog you learned by watching too much Hee Haw or Mannix or some other fantasy TV show.)

Let's not let them get away with this spectacle of doing nothing....Let's hold their feet to the fire. You are right! They work for you and for me!

Put 'em to work! Fix this mess! Do it now!

"act out of desperation and political hatred"

Isn't this exactly what you are demanding. You thinking is "Bail on the Republicans, they are not doing what I want!" mantra.

Sure sounds like political hatred to me. That and a great big hissy fit.

As I have already stated, I know what my election is about in November and it has nothing to do with George Bush. Nobody, not even a Freeper has any right to demand that anyone bail on the Republican Party, because of their own political beliefs.

The "mob mentality" going on here in Freeperland is staggering. What do you guys do- ping each other to certain posts so you can beat up on people that may actually disagree with the mob mentality? (this question is not necessarily directed at you, but many others on this thread) Good grief people!

Whether some Freepers like it or not, some of us will be voting for the Republican Party in our local elections. I will be voting to drive out the Democratic scum selling out my state. Whether or not George Bush is President, I am voting for the Republicans running against the Democratic slime in Wisconsin. So get over it! The question is, whether or not you will be voting to get rid of the Democratic slime in your state! Each one of us get to make our own choices. It's great to be an American!

So WHAT if the House falls to the 'Rats for awhile? Apparently, the GOP thinks it can just crap all over the base - saying "They have nowhere else to go." But if there's one thing we can count on with most politicians of both stripes (these days) - they don't give a flying frik about the country, the Constitution, or you or me - just their own selfish rear ends, or their Master Plan, democracy be damned.

Sit out on every last one of the GOP Housemembers who votes in the traitor column, and the rest of the GOP elitists in the administration and Senate might be fighting off House inquisitions, impeachment hearings and general mayhem for the next two years.

Chaos? Grevious damage to the GOP "club". Yep. Sorry, but the GOP needs to be bitchslapped by the voters that put them in office, for playing kissie-face with and bending over for the 'Ratpack. They need a severe attitude adjustment - and we're tired of the admonishment that we can't punish them - because of their little canard of "Oh, then the Democrats will be in charge."

Which they won't. We'll have gridlock, and the remaining GOP will have to learn to fight...for the things we put'em there to accomplish, else they'll get thrown off from the pig trough too.

Call it Tough Love, a Trial Separation, or just taking their selfish butts to the woodshed. They're asking for it.

And if they don't straighten up and fly right by 2008, or the voters don't get a clue about what Democrats are like when they actually run something - then hey...it will have been a nice country while it lasted - but that's what happens when leaders are elected by a selfish, blind and stupid public. Nothing we can do can prevent that anyway.

This is specifically my reference for a classic example.

When the RINOs share the same beds as the socialists, they are sure to wake up with fleas. This sort of nonsense makes it east to hold a grudge against republicans, they are now going to have to pay the piper.

Bush will have to call Pelosi and congratulate her on winning the house. THEN he'll get it! Think they can work together?

The irony is that it is the senate and the administration tha t is driving the cart over the cliff.

This administration must have had their antenna broken..

What is really broken is their pledge (oath of office) to protect the constitution. I have voted a straight Republican ticket in every(and I mean every) election since 1978. But no more,, I will stay at home, I will not campaign, I will not register voters. If it takes the demoncRats winning everything for Republicans to get their act together, so be it. President Bush's apologist remind me of the fellow who tells people, "My wife has stopped cheating on me with all but 3 of her lovers".

I work in Illinois, live in Wisconsin, so I actually know that Ryan was a slime. Criminals belong in prison.

Guess what? George Bush won't be on my ballot in November- but Jim Doyle will be. Jim Doyle makes Ryan look like a saint.

My election is not about amnesty. When you head to the polls in November, when you decide to vote for Blago or Topika, will your vote be about amnesty for illegal aliens?

You're kidding, right? If Dana Rohrbacher is far right wing it tells me a lot about how far left the Republican party has gone.

"the GOP needs to be bitchslapped by the voters that put them in office, for playing kissie-face with and bending over for the 'Ratpack. They need a severe attitude".....etc, etc.

The mental institutions have opened up their computer rooms for the inmates so they can play on the internet now.

Watch it. You just might get slapped like this individual suggests.

The rest of us are off to church to pray for all of us...even the folks at Looney Tunes.

God Bless America.

I agree. Build the fence and start the task of deporting these INVADERS when we catch them, imprisoning their employers and others that give them aid and shelter and cut off these INVADERS from all social services.

If these politicians do allow these INVADERS to stay here and grant them citizenship, then that is indeed a "Sell Out".

Thanks for boring me with that nonsensical gibberish. I'll take that as a complete concession that Bush is irredeemable.

This administration must have had their antenna broken shortly after their second term began ... Harriet Miers, Katrina, immigration ... they've been stumbling around for the better part of two years now.

Don't forget the Dubai Ports Fiasco or this continuing energy mess ...

Yes, the Dubai Ports fiasco is another good example of the Bushies floundering around in their second term ... although I will give them a pass on the energy issue. Not sure it has more to do with a confluence of events that would be beyond any administration to control.
As far as tone deaf ... I agree Bush 43, much like Bush 41, seems to be out of touch with reality.

There was an article in our morning paper Evidence of work fraud untapped that found in one case one child's SSA number was being used by 742 workers in 42 states. Something has to be done and if Pres. Bush or Senator Frist things that their legislation is the answer suggest they think again.
