Comedians tell jokes. Politicians are jokes. Sick jokes.

The number would be 2,631 per day on average. Not likely.

Unfortunately they have been employing catch and release the entire time he has been in office.

Then when they don't appear for their court date they are deported in absentia. Until they have that court order ICE does not even try to locate them. Most of the ones who have been deported were criminals and that is how they were located.

Look at this article and you can see what I am talking about.

It's one thing to support amnesty.

It's another to support amnesty against the wishes of your constituents and your oath.

Quite another to take your constituents for fools.

Shame on you Senator.

The citizens of this country are not as stupid as I conclude you must believe having read this editorial in full. At least show some character and admit what you are doing rather than trying to treat us like the kooks that make up the Democratic base. We aren't that stupid.

This editorial insults everyone, including yourself. It treats constituents, YOUR constitudents, as simpletons. Lecturing down to us, while trying to mask amnesty with a few extra dollars thrown in.

"virtually no one?"

That is almost true isn't it? I did not know any Freepers were omniscient. There have been plenty of members here say that exact thing.

"Virtually no one is suggesting massive roundups or detention camps. (ridiculous on its face, if you deport what need is there for detention camps?)"

I agree with your one salient point as I have stated. I hope you took the time to read all my posts before you flamed me, you would have known I take the same position on deporting and punishing employers.......hard.

We already have detention and repatriation camps along the border. Where do you think they put the illegals they capture. There's not much room in them, so most of the "Wetbacks" are given a "Court Date" and a green light to go to our interior.
This is known as the "Catch and Release" program.
BTW, the illegals love it. None of them ever show up for they're court date. My two Nephews on the Border Patrol are totally disgusted. One of them leaves next week for Iraq with his Texas N. G. Unit and is glad to get a break from this fqrce.

Let's see he had been in office about 2280 days when he made that statement. 6,000,000 / 2280 = 2631 deported per day. We just saw major headlines all over the MSM when they busted a 1000+. I don't blame you. He told a lie whether it was intentional or not. If it wasn't intentional, maybe he should make a retraction and give us the real numbers.

The president was referring to the number of illegals who have been stopped at the border. That has nothing to do with the 12 million legals who are already here.

It wasn't necessary to read anything else you've posted to respond in kind to your smarmy characterization. As far as "omniscient" goes ordinary intelligence is enough to discern that the number of people espousing what you claimed is statistically insignificant. There is a fair amount of hyperbole along those lines but I don't expect that you're too dumb to see which is which there either.

Just not a forced repatriation program for 12 million people that would tear this nation to shreds.

This is just hysterical ranting. Tell us how it would do that.

The Senate, House and White House are seriously confused about what is at issue and what is at stake here.

The issue of a guest worker program is completely separate from the issue of illegal aliens.

We have a guest worker program. It may need to be reformed but illegal aliens are those who have not applied to be guest workers. There are 11 million of them. (or more) The only thing needing reform now concerns illegal aliens and border security. We need to enforce the existing laws respecting the presence and employment of illegal aliens and border security.

Border security is the number one problem in this debate. The flood of illegal aliens is a major factor in relation to our lack of border security but it is only one factor. There is also a matter of national security in a time of war and in an age when terrorists have set their sights on inflicting mass destruction on our society.

After the issues of border security and millions of illegal foreign nationals on our soil the matter of guest workers is very small. Until the first two problems are thoroughly and firmly addressed the guest worker issue should not even be discussed.

Immigration and a guest worker program are separate issues from the above.

The President the Senate and the House need to get that message with unambiguous resolve.

Secure the border!

Crack down on employers!
(The dog-and-pony show catch-and-release won't cut it either.)

No anchor babies!

Deport illegal aliens.

Bring in immigrants who have been waiting for years with papers in hand!

Nothing else will do.

Now is the time to put the pressure on!

"According to this new bill that's tied up in the Senate, illegal immigrants who can prove they've been here for two years would be allowed to stay. So follow the logic here. If you can prove you broke the current law for two years, you've protected under the new law." --Jay Leno

You stated: "The president was referring to the number of illegals who have been stopped at the border. That has nothing to do with the 12 million legals who are already here. "

Really!!! So 400,000 illegals were stopped at the border and sent back that chose to confess they had criminal records. BS It has been catch and release within 100yards of the border and hands off past that.

If you have any support for your statement. I will be glad to eat some crow.

I know he is not referring to the 12 million that are here. Neither am I.

You can't be serious? Surely you are not that shallow. Twelve million people? Do you have any conception of that enormity of that number and the violence it would spur?

This is our example for the world????

I agree to everything you posted about the solution to this problem. I even believe every person that is stopped by authorities and found to be illegal should be deported. But I will not support state-bt state round-ups of grandmothers and little girls. Can you even conceptualize the visuals that would be on every newscast worldwide?

Scream, Jump up and down, call me names if you want, but I will never agree with a forced detention and repatriation system preceeded by mass roundups. If you don't like it, tough shit. This will be my last post on this thread.

Scream? Jump up and down? lol You're the one who is hyperventilating like a little girl.

I don't support a massive roundup either. Dry up the jobs and they will self-deport at their own expense. But to say we can't, or it isn't PC or it isn't possible is BS. Can a ragtag band of colonists beat the most powerful military force in the world with one third of their neighbors against them, one third apathetic and no national structure to support them?

Is it possible to invent an atomic bomb, keep it secret, with material and personnel shortages based on a physics theory that had never been proven?

Could we put a man on the moon? Did we survive the Great Depression? Did we survive the Civil War? Did we build a trans-continental railroad and cut this nation out of a wilderness?

Go lick the hands that feed you. And if you never return to this thread that's fine with me.

How can Frist say any of what he did with a straight face? He's talking amnesty, does he really expect any of us to swallow this lol? It'll be tough going back to a democratic Congress but that's where we're headed, thanks doc.

4437 is poison and should not be mentioned for political reasons.

It is not poison, have you read the polls lately? Rasmussen had 47% of people leaning in favor of the House approach and gaining with 37% supporting the amnesty approach.

It is absolutely poison, the RATS are able to conjure up visions of illegal alien concentration camps and priests, nuns, Doctors and social workers behind bars.

I know that this is not fair or accurate but that is how it is.

Gingrich had it right the other day when he said the Senate should put up an enforcement only bill and let Clinton and Schumer vote against it. That would make a perfect campaign slogan in the election as to who the open border obstructionists really are. The people want enforcement, not amnesty.
