How do you know her meal was more than $49.99?

"It is past time for her to serve her term in Congress and let the party nominate an opponent for Nelson. She simply has to know she's not helping the cause."

It seems she's the only Republican in Florida that wants to run against Nelson.

I named a couple of other candidates - Jeb doesn't want it, and the other is testing the waters I hear.

GOP voters aren't stupid and many of them aren't willing to vote for a candidate just because they are a GOP. Frankly, I'm not surprised that many GOP voters would vote for Nelson when the other major candidate is Harris.

I'd consider it myself, to be blunt.

If I'm going to pay $2,800 for a dinner,.....

Never have, never will! But if I ever do, the night better last for a week............

>>And third, the conventional wisdom is that the election is a long way off and things can change. Specifically what are you expecting to change with Harris and Nelson in order to close a broad gap, including Harris's negatives being higher than her positive rating? What specifically do people who think Harris will win think she will do to close the gap? so far her polling has been very bad and her campaigning has been terrible, like her odd appearances showing off her bustline and then pledging (but not quite) her personal stash of $10 million.<<

That near last remark you made about Katherine borders on the sexist - the Liberal type that Michelle Malkin decried last August-Septemeber .

If we GOP and Conservatives start taking mean spirited swipes at our own, then we are no better than the Democrats !

There is a place for constructive criticism, as I have reminded other freepers on this thread .
So let's not get into character destruction, which is the province of the NUKE YORK MEDIA !

Which reminds me, very Conservative Blogger Debbie Schlussel has been savaging ICE administrator Julie L. Myers
for a while now ~
I wish she would take my advice about constructive criticism !

"Seriously, though... is government so corrupt, and pathetic, that tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer money will be forfeited for the price of one crummy meal?"

I wonder why they were having dinner at this restaurant in the first place.

This was a pay to play meal and she's just another dirty politician who can be bought.

Cool! Lets enforce it and kick out 100 senators, 535 congressmen and 50 governors..........Then we can finish with the present administration and implement term limits! Wow, what a plan!

The Orlando Sentinel endorsed John Kerry for President. It's part of the Jackass Party propaganda machine.

It's not sexist at all. She had an arched-back, bustline flattering appearance on Hannity & Colmes that was unintentionally hilarious. I don't know what she was trying to accomplish, but it came across as almost a strange parody.

I call them like I see them. If a dem woman put on a comparable performance, I'd criticize it. It happens that this was a GOP woman candidate who behaved so oddly. It damaged the little credibility she had.

Did you see the appearance I am referencing? It was unforgettable - she looked so bad, it was indeed almost funny.

Yes I did ! And no, that interview was not funny, not to me, just uneventful, almost boring .

These references to her 'bustiness' are so hyped up by Liberals, mostly on these Blogs of theirs .
Your rancor sounds a lot like these Liberal and Leftwing sexists !

But yes, her behavior was somewhat odd on that interview -
part of the explanation is she was trying to come across as too personable and friendly and she way over did it .
Another cause for this interview's strange 'angles' is that the cameraman was trying to get Katherine to movie away from the line of site so as to get the backdrop of the Capitol Dome into view for the interview !
I blame FOXNEWS for that silliness !

To be sure, her credibility has not been helped by all the gaffes that she and her campaign have made since that interview last August !

I call them like they are. If a GOPer screws up, I'll say it. If a dem is right, I'll say it. I strive to be clear-minded first and foremost. If that means I have to give a democrat some credit, or even my vote, I will.

That in itself makes me neither a sexist liberal nor a sexist conservative.

I think he came across as very poor in that interview on H&C, and I don't think it's fair to blame some cameraman at Fox News. She maintained an arched back posture that flattered her chest - it was out of place, odd, and strangely funny.

The bottom line is that the appearance didn't do her any good, and did some harm. and that's the Harris tradition - her $10 million pledge that wasn't really a $ 10 million pledge just made her look more confused and also didn't help her standing at all.

She hasn't chained three good moves together as best as I know. That's nobody's fault but her own.

I have saved a transcript I made of an instant message conversation I made with a friend of Katherine Harris from late last year, that discusses that interview that the Liberals made so many sexist comments about - - -

This IM was made on AOL with a chatroom poster by the screename of 'Estate ADV'

Zontarr [8:49 AM]: Hello
Zontarr [8:49 AM]: ESTATE, r u there ?
ESTATE ADV [8:49 AM]: Yeah
Zontarr [8:50 AM]: So
Zontarr [8:50 AM]: What can you tell me about the lovely Katherine Harris
ESTATE ADV [8:51 AM]: I like her. She's not accurately portrayed in the press. I don't think she will win but she has a formidable political machine.
Zontarr [8:52 AM]: Yes
Zontarr [8:52 AM]: I seee her pol numbers down
Zontarr [8:53 AM]: But she seems to be the only strong candidate that the GOP in Florida can field
ESTATE ADV [8:53 AM]: She has a tough campaign against a well known democrat that hasn't offended anyone. They are desperately trying to find any repub to run against her.
Zontarr [8:53 AM]: If you have the time, I would like to talk much about this subject
Zontarr [8:54 AM]: I heard that Nelson was boring
ESTATE ADV [8:54 AM]: I have just a couple of minutes. I have a lunch meeting.
Zontarr [8:54 AM]: vanilla
ESTATE ADV [8:54 AM]: I think Nelson is unoffensive.
Zontarr [8:54 AM]: Yes
Zontarr [8:54 AM]: Will you vote for her ?
ESTATE ADV [8:55 AM]: Are you an individual or connected to the campaign?
Zontarr [8:55 AM]: I am an individual
Zontarr [8:55 AM]: I am free
Zontarr [8:55 AM]: I am not even in Fl
Zontarr [8:56 AM]: Will u vote for her ?
ESTATE ADV [8:56 AM]: I am in Florida and yes I will vote for her.
Zontarr [8:56 AM]: Good
Zontarr [8:56 AM]: :-)
Zontarr [8:56 AM]: I think she can win
ESTATE ADV [8:57 AM]: I think Nelson is OK but I have a positive feeling about Katherine. It's odd since I don't have a positive feeling about the Presidents job.

She will have to work hard to win.
Zontarr [8:58 AM]: One last question, and this is a senstive one
Zontarr [8:58 AM]: Have u seen that Hannity & Colmes interview from last month ?
Zontarr [8:59 AM]: U know what I am talking about
ESTATE ADV [8:59 AM]: Yes and the subject has been discussed with her as well.
Zontarr [9:00 AM]: Do you know if she has any regrets making that interview, and the way she made it ?
ESTATE ADV [9:00 AM]: I don't think regrets. It's all about moving forward. They filmed her at an odd angle. Plus she had not slept in the prior two days.
Zontarr [9:00 AM]: I see
Zontarr [9:01 AM]: U think that was deliberate on FOXNEWS part ?
Zontarr [9:02 AM]: If u r in a hurry, I would like to talk with you on this subject , some more
ESTATE ADV [9:02 AM]: No. I think Fox supports her. I think she needs professional handlers that advise her. She needs to do better in the future.
Zontarr [9:02 AM]: at a latter time
ESTATE ADV [9:02 AM]: Why are you interested in Katherine?
Zontarr [9:03 AM]: Well, I am alarmed at how Bush and Rove and many other GOP Leaders are dumping a bona fide conservative
Zontarr [9:03 AM]: Ann Coluter lastest artcile made issue of this
Zontarr [9:03 AM]: Ann Coulter
Zontarr [9:03 AM]: pardon my typos
Zontarr [9:04 AM]: Also , I find Congresswoman Harris to be a fascinating individual
Zontarr [9:06 AM]: Is there something wrong ?
ESTATE ADV [9:06 AM]: That's completely true. I am amazed at how Republicans will undermine their own. You are dead on about that. Rove is completely involved. He has been contacting her since the last election. I don't like Ann Coulter but I will read her article.

I gotta go. See ya.
Zontarr [9:07 AM]: Thank you and good day

Nelson was favored by 56 percent compared to 27 percent who preferred Harris in the poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

Oh my God. 27%? Is she related to Alan Keyes?

The corrupt biased media has disenfranchised me of my vote by demonizing my candidate. For no other reason than retribution by one political party over another, they continue to act as political agents.

Ed Rollins is a democrat mole.

Same guy who screwed Bill Simon, said the picture with Gray Davis receiving a check on gov property was real.

If you are dumb enough to hire these consultants then you get what you deserve.
