There's no such thing as aliens.

Slather the little feller with BBQ sauce and some Lea & Perrins and we'd be in business.

The Skeptical Inquirer featured an interview with an FX expert shortly after that stoopid special came out, showing how easy it was to create an alien and its innards.

On the topic of debunking pseudoscientific hoaxes, Stan Winston (the multiple Oscar-winning fx genius behind Jurassic Park, Aliens, The Terminator and many, many moore) once appeared on television to debunk the infamous Patterson "Bigfoot" footage. He said it was a man in an ape suit that was so crappily designed, he would have instantly fired anyone in his shop who tried to hoist it on him.

Those of us of a skeptical inclination are not surprised by this, but I'm sure that the reality-based community is disappointed to learn that the aliens weren't for real :-)

I've seen footage from the autopsy film, and the "special effects" are about as convincing as those on Dr. Who.

Are you sure that's not the one that they fooled Bob Guccione (Penthouse, Omni) with?

I loved Max Headroom - it was just ahead of its time.
