They can dream on. The GOP is going to get hurt bad this year. Why? Because most of them are clueless idiots that deserve to be sent home.
Some at NRO have been talking to "insiders (read members of Congress and staffers)" and they, get this, blame Bush for not setting an agenda.
See what I mean about being clueless idiots? Do they have to be walked on a leash to know to quit spending like drunken RATS and stop earmarking everything under the sun (222% increase since 1995) and quit taking sleazy money from sleazy lobbyists?
Good riddance to them. Maybe four or six years of horrible Dem control again will again wake real conservatives up. But it's also our job to make sure they don't again pull the wool over our eyes. After 1994 and 1996 any so-called conservative that wussed out should have been sent home. But that's so hard with House members when everyone thinks theirs is fine and the rest are scum.
I think the real hurt will be in the Senate. The GOP already caves to the RATS with a 55-45 majority. If that changes to 53-47 or 52-48 they'll hand them the keys again like Trent Lott putting on knee pads for Tom Daschle.
On the upside----a month in politics is an eternity----things can and do change.
This is very true. And in the "summer" people (read: idiots) don't pay attention. As usual, turnout is the key and the GOP can use the next six months to talk to the base.
But it better be about real change and not just words. Many have safe districts and I doubt they have any challenger that could get even close. Mine is unopposed.
But if a lot stay home here in Tennessee, the open seat for Bill Frist could be lost. I doubt it though.
The Pubbies will need at least six months to energize the base........the best thing the Pubs have going for them is that the Dims are in even worse trouble.
It would be better if the Bushies and so-called Pub leadership could trumpet real GOP victories like the economy, tax cuts, two great SCOTUS justices, a winning war against Islamofacism instead of kow towing to Fox, Kennedy, and every other Dem plus the leftist MSM. It is time to stand up for what the GOP has actually accomplished. No one else will and we all know what failures have been alluded to.
