"She's in a studio (1 room) appartment in the Berekely area. Here landlords are the wackjobs that put an US soldier out with a noose around his neck and a flag over his face."

Are you sure about this? The only place I've ever seen it reported (besides a blog) was in the Contra Costa Times. And they said she was living in an apartment in a house.

The Pearcys have a house in Sacramento, but only an apartment in Berkeley, AFAIK.

The blog, says a reporter friend told him that Sheehan was living with the Pearcys. But no documentation.

Again, I wouldn't be surprised. They have been close a long time. I just haven't seen it substantiated.

Organizers of Monday night’s "Bring ‘Em Home Now!" concert said 3,000 tickets were sold.

They lied about that too. Hammerstein Ballroom website said 2,800 standup capacity. Also, the tickets to met Cindy at the Vodka Bar with Peaches were available the night before. TicketMaster would have allowed you to by the max limit of eight, but I suspect not a lot of people wanted to pay the roughly $30 or $40 in the cheap seats to attend.

Having known the Sheehan family for many years through St. Mary's Catholic Church where Ms. Sheehan had previously been the youth director...

Noooooooo!!!

Although this does validate our decision to homeschool....

TV movies generally cost $3M and rarely more than $5M to produce. It ain't Oceans Twelve money.

That production budget includes paying Cindy Sheehan for her life story.

I'd be surprised if Sheehan got as much as $500K for the rights.

Most likely much less, plus a cut to her agent.

They've already spoken about airing the movie on Lifetime and given the economics of that network, a big-budget production with Hollywood-style fees to Sheehan is out of the question.

The most they could hope for is to get ABC to option it, which is unlikely.

Also, it will have a very unsatisfying storyline: Mom loses son because of heartless president, follows heartless president around trying to get him to notice her, he ignores her.

Not very compelling TV. The producers will take that into account as well.

This is all supposing that the movie even gets made.

If the movie deal happens, it will indeed "put her over the top" as you say.

I personally don't think it will happen. The last I read about it, it was only in the discussion stages. Thats like going in for your first interview for a job. You may indeed get the nod over all the other applicants but its just a little to soon to start shopping for that new dream car/house etc.
It seems like public interest in her is fading. Someday someone might want to put together some docudrama about her and hope that it will get some air time, the Saradon as Sheehan extravaganza probably grows dimmer with each passing day. She isn't getting the ink and airtime from the MSM like she used to. Her publicity stunts are getting more and more frantic and bazaar. Her shrill babbling and looney quotes just seem to keep coming back and biting her in the butt. Her refusal to provide a headstone for Casey (until now) has cost her in the eyes of some of her supporters.

There will always be supporters of hers out there that will proclaim her a saint and the pinnacle of motherhood and wisdom. But with each passing day they grow smaller and smaller in number.

Do you mean to tell me that the Sheehan family did not pay the expenses for a proper burial of their son!! You mean to tell me that this family relied on donations to bury their son!! Oh my gosh. I am speechless.

As a former "Youth Director" at a Catholic parish, she should know the corporal works of mercy:

To feed the hungry;
To give drink to the thirsty;
To clothe the naked;
To harbour the harbourless;
To visit the sick;
To ransom the captive;
To bury the dead.

3000 tickets at 50 bucks a pop is 150K, of which half goes to the venue, netting 75K at best.

That 75K is split up among Sheehan's fake charity and Veterans Against the War and "others" presumably Code Pink.

However these are raw sales, while only the "profits" from sales went go to the fake charities.

10 different musical acts, even if they are donating their performances, still need to pay roadies and technicians for ten different sets of equipment and transportation.

If Sheehan made as much as 20K off this personally, I'd be shocked.

The facts are that Cindy Sheehan is using her dead son as a cash cow - she's just not making as much as you suspect. She sold out for far cheaper than most people realize.

I was just involved with making funeral arrangements last week for a friend. Her family spent $9,980 for the funeral. The cemetery costs were $2,000+, the coffin was $3500. Other costs added up to the total of $9,980. This person was retired military. The military paid for the headstone and the honor ceremony (which was beautiful). The family definitely did not pick the most expensive stuff, but not the cheapest pine box either. The most expensive coffin was about $8,000, the cheapest was $1500, so you can see the range. Included in this cost was about $1,000 for a headstone for the victim's mother who previously did not have a headstone. Luckily the person had purchased a $10,000 burial life insurance policy which paid for everything.

How exactly does one parent have control of a gravesite over another parent? I seriously don't understand why the family doesn't just step in and fix this. And how is it that she has sole control over any inheritance? She's a nut for sure, but I can't reason why the rest of the family didn't step up and do something about it. She is not Casey's only family member.

As far as the funeral costs being paid for by the military...makes you wonder what expenses she added to the cost of the funeral. There's probably a limit as to how much the military will pay.

The greatest day in her life was the day her son died. He made her a media darling and she's loving every minute of it.

This reminds me of a conversation on one of the cannibal threads (killer of the 10 YO girl), regarding "why" a perp would want to consume his victim. The theory was that the cannibal would be confident that the victim wouldn't leave.

Mother Sheehan appears to have a similar mentality. Because Casey is dead, she can consume her son in front of all the cameras, knowing that he can never refute her, reject her, or in any way escape.

In this spiritual cannibalism, she may continue feeding, as there is no physical body to be used up. She must have really despised her son to defile his memory this way.

That's what the elephant in the room here. Certainly if the families of the war dead were paying out of pocket costs for funerals we would be Clockwerk Oranged by the media.

I wonder what happened here?

I feel so bad for Casey. This hero's memory is being tarnished by his no-class, nutburger mother.

Who knows. There was only public info that Casey didn't have a marker and that Cindy controlled the gravesite and got all the insurance money.

"TV movies generally cost $3M and rarely more than $5M to produce."

You're living in the past. (About 20 years ago, to be exact.)

Why are you making it your business to downplay how much Cindy is making?

The VFP leadership have bragged on their own site that they have collected up to $100K a day in donations during their scam Katrina Relief scam.

How much do you think GSFP were pulling down when Cindy was front page?

And why are you and a couple others so interested in taking the discussion off topic?

Cindy got at least $200,000 in government death benefits. Casey also had a life insurance policy.

Additionally, she has since made two book deals, she is signed with a speakers' bureau and speaks quite regularly for pay. She has her own charity, with celebrity fundraisers. She has even gotten money from Hugo Chavez?

She couldn't pay to bury her son? And on top of that, she had to lie about the people who did pay?

Why are you defending her?

I tend to give her a break.
She clearly is mentally ill, and she was sucked in and taken advantage of by people with a 'hate America' agenda. It is these wretches that have used her that disgust me.
I only feel sorry for Ms. Sheehan. Mental illness is a tragedy. Seemingly healthy when you look at the outside, but terribly broken on the inside. She was sick, and then the demons pulled her into the hell that is now left of her twisted reality.

Eh, life goes on. Thanks for your post - as it is always good to get the truth out there.
