Well, what are you gonna say if you're his lawyer and he won't plead insanity?

Talk about a tough case for a defense lawyer. You have a client that wants to be found guilty and is stupid as anything. I bet they love just getting up in the mornings to go to work.
I'm surprised they haven't all quit.

"Moussaoui suffered difficult childhood"Meaning of course, he's not responsible for his actions. Typical 60's Rousseau philosophical crap. "It's our environments fault".

yeah
he's depressed. he came from a depressed neighborhood.
not unlike any other turd world nation
parents couldn't afford to buy hi a GI Joe..
parents couldnt afford to send him to school..
took to stealing camels by the time he was 12
became a ward of the gov't at 14
grew up impoverished and mal adjusted
etc etc

What's that saying about sympathy lying somewhere between sh*t and syphilis in the dictionary?

72 virgin girls - not really. Check the end of C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters. More likely 72 voracious ghouls. OK, they might indeed look like Helen Thomas.

Moussaoui suffered difficult childhood, social worker testifiesSo? Who cares what he was like as a kid? We're more concerned about what he is like as an adult! The rest doesn't matter.
A lot of people in this world have had difficult childhoods. That doesn't mean they all grow up to be mass murderers.
I'll bet that social worker voted for Al Gore. I'd bet money on it. Someone who'd try to make a man like Moussaoui the victim has to be a flaming democrat.

Cry me a river. My mother had a difficult childhood too, but somehow managed to rise above it and become a lovely woman.

You've got to be f-ing kidding me. This is just so the lawyers can claim to have earned a paycheck. However, Moussaoui dearly wants to be a martyr, and among impressionable young Muslims around the world, this trial has given him a stature he could never have achieved on his own merits.
He'll fry. It's just a shame that it will be granting his foundest wish...

That's sounds more like John Locke...the father of Liberalism.
