About 20 years ago, there was a similar situation in this area that did involve a female HS coach with a VB player. Never made the news and she later started coaching at a middle school in the area.

If you had read the comments of the seniors in the school's VB program about their thoughts and feelings about their experience with the team, their team-mates, and coach; you would sense a pretty close bonding; much more so than with most school progams.
When I first read it, it did catch me a bit by surprise; but I thought that the guy just really cared about his players. Didn't think too much of it since he had coached a Christian college team the previous few years.
