I totally agree, but you can't beat their prices on ammo, if you shoot a lot like I do and don't reload then it is nice to have them around.

I support my local gun dealer (Fountain Firearms). Firearms, ammo and reloading supplies.

My store, the imaginatively named "Gun Store", has wonderful staff, a nice selection, and also houses a book store and a barber shop! I can dump a whole paycheck there!

Shopping at Wal-mart for guns? I'm not big on wading through big people wearing their pajamas at 4:00pm on a Monday to get to the sporting goods.:(

I'd rather pay a little more.

I bought a .22 rifle in the local Wal-Mart several years ago, and it was the absolute worst beaurocratic cluster f*** I've ever been involved in. The clerk couldn't find any 4473 forms and called the manager. The manager looked for a quarter hour and finally came up with a "master copy" original. These two guys directed me to fill out the form, and then go back and initial and date every line item I had entered. Then, they went over the form and initialed and dated every single line item again. An hour after I started the ordeal of simply filling out a form and paying for a rifle, I was escorted to the front door where the rifle box was finally handed over to me on the condition that I did not re-enter the store with it under any circumstances. I didn't touch the rifle I bought until I was outside the door , with the manager standing guard until I was in my car and gone from sight. NEVER AGAIN.

"It's all part of the grand plan to disarm all Americans. Chip..chip..chip, a little freedom is chipped away at a time and such little pieces will never be noticed by the public until it is too late."

You sure hit the nail on the head there. Your post drives it home, I think.

In the first few days after Katrina the local Walmart (Denham Springs, La) pulled all of the guns and ammunition off of the shelves. I will never buy any sporting goods from Walmart again.

Use your local sporting goods stores.

I bought a Marlin 30/30 from `Wally world' last year, price was right but an asst. manager escorted me to the door.

I know it's a stooopid policy, but it's not uncommon in a "family store." They'd freak out if you were carrying though.

ROFLMAO! Your story sounds a lot like what I went through at wally world when I bought a .22 there.

If a store, for whatever reasons decides to not carry a particular product line, where is the "grand scheme"? Should WalMart carry snowshoes in their South Pacific stores?

I agree. That's why we never go to these places. I buy all my ammo from the internet. Gun purchases are from guns only stores.

I didn't know you could copy a 4473 form. Regardless, if they didn't have the form readily available, I'd have walked out.

Did you consider that they weapons and ammo were pulled because of LOOTING?

The "Grand Scheme" applies to all liberals who are actively trying to kill the Second Amendment through intimidation and lawsuits. Walmart simply is one of the businesses caving into them so that they can avoid any legal consequences.

Can't see the forrest because of the trees? Huh?
