I also substitute at the local high schools in my area and to tell the truth I find that the immigrant kids are BETTER behaved than the white or black kids with notable exceptions.
These exceptions being the Norteno-Sureno-Border Brothers types who want to"throw up their set"in the classroom.
Most Mexican kids are taught respect for elders in the home.Its a part of their cultural framework.Its the ones who are more"Americanized"that are more likely to be the wild ones.

I'm positive that if these hispanics were, somehow, capable of reading the many deleted replies on the immigration threads at FR, they would know how much they are truly loved by republicans.

I don't like the effects on my hometown of this mass immigration movement, and the most destructive element I see is their lack of interest in assimilating into the existing culture.The assimilation question, to me, is the most dangerous aspect of this debate. We have taken away the motivation to assimilate...if you can bank, vote, receive government services and otherwise exist her without speaking the language, we no longer have the factors that once motivated immigrants. This is no longer the single melting pot, it's casting an entirely different mold.
