Exactly. There are three options on the table:
1. FelonyThe Democrats want option 3.2. Misdemeanor
3. Civil offense (status quo)
The Republicans in the House proposed option 1. After the Whitehouse protested, Sensenbrenner tried to go to option 2.
Many Republicans [who want option 1] and most Democrats [who want option 3] said no to option 2.
Too little too late to appease the pro-amnesty crowd, as you have so clearly stated.
I propose we take a break from this infighting in the Holy Week.
We all agree that we want legal immigration and secure borders. We are just letting the Democrats divide us with subterfuges.
1)I suggested creation of a state militia, which is constitutional; (2) posited the prospect of armed citizens massing at the border, which is also constitutional if we are being invaded and everyone else is looking the other way (last time I looked, the Minutemen were there, along with some disgusted and infiltrated and compromised border agents); and (3)that Congress should declare war with Mexico (also constitutional), you both need to get your respective heads out of the sand, and go pick up some books on the Constitution and try to read them before criticizing my postings using your own self-appointed subjective censorship and police powers. That's too complicated. I propose we vote leaders more responsive to our wills.
Your extreme measures are only justified with the democratic change is not available, such as when we were under monarchical rule without representation, or when a democratic elected government turns into a dictatorship as the Nazi rule in Germany
Thank you...you've just lost my vote :-)
Passing a bill that only includes border security is not something the GOP is even thinking about. Nobody who matters supports your position. You are not a player.
