"And heres the weird thing nobody in media world ever laughs at any of this. "
That's ok, Gerard, the entire country is laughing its collective ass off at couric and C----BS. They have the lowest ratings ever and she won't help. Ever since she sided with her true love Saddam her credibility has nosedived. She made the comment, "hopefully, Saddam made his escape to Syria" said before he was captured.
She's nothing more than a grossly overpaid moron, a stooge of the left. I will NEVER watch her, EVER.

Who's this Katie chick?...anyone I should care about?...Don't think so. Network news is dead.
To: MadIvan
Absolutely nailed it! Thanks for posting this, MadIvan! It was the first article I read this morning and I am cheered that someone wrote such a spot on comment on American media.
And I didn't know that Blitzer's "Stuation Rom" was as described, nor about his "National Security Council." Someoneon CNN needs a rubber room.

Network news is crap, CBS is crap concentrate. Katie is a shrieking harpy. I've been berated by homeless squeegee guys who have a better line of reasoning.

Imagine the gravitas. A news anchor talking about how frightening it will be to leave her 'comfort zone'.
Just what Americans are looking for.....psychobabble moving from the moring show to the evening news.

Distraction by featuring her ugly legs.

I thought the bottom one was after showing the Abu Ghraib pics... or when Kerry announced his defeat... or when the Iraqi's showed up in droves to vote... or when Ubay and Ixnay were smeared...

Nope. I remember that day well. Others stated that she looked like she was at a funeral, mourning.

"Whats more, in the cable, satellite and internet era, those famous programmes and their presenters have in any case only a fraction of the reach and significance they used to have. A casual look at the products advertised during their commercial breaks gives you a hint of their shrivelled audiences theyre nearly all for haemorrhoidal ointment, incontinence pants and assisted-living communities."
That's about as accurate an assessment as I've seen. The only interesting thing will be watching the CBS news old guard do everything possible to make her a failure because even by their low standards she's not a news journalist.
To: OldFriend
She did it... for Hillary.

The only other on air personality who rivaled Katie in the dislike department had to be Bryant Gumbal.
I think a low point in television was reached when Katie proudly showed her Today show viewers the pictures from a medical examination camera probe as it slowly worked it's way up her rectum in search of cancer polyps.
Personally, I think there's a fortune to be made by anyone who markets these pictures as a screen saver. It sort of has the same visual effect as when the SG1 team travels through the Stargate.

Just drop all pretenses and have Katie Couric installed in the CBS News anchor spot via a formal coronation ceremony.
