If there's a slow rate in prosecution of know pedophiles, I suspect it's due to the fact they are embedded in every section of our society, hoping for the Libs to pass laws, that will one day, make it legal for them to have their way with our children.

What gets me about this is the headline. This guy is no "victim." He was a purveyor.

What it sounds to me:

He showed himself on webcam of his own accord until he was caught. His aggressive "victim" stance now is being coerced by prosecutors in order to get more money from Congress as a condition of not be prosecuted himself, like several recent cases of underage girls being prosecuted for distributing pictures of themselves. Everybody is playing a charade. He pretends to be a victim. The law pretends that it's the worst thing that could happen and they could catch the thousands (or millions) of perverts if they only had more money. And Congress pretends to be concerned and outraged in order to get votes.

But you have a problem if you want to call the kid (for 5 of the 6 years) a perp. In order to be a perp, the kid has to have knowledge that what he was doing sexually was wrong. If you make the case that he should have had the knowledge of the right and wrong of the situation then you are arguing essentially that he had the ability in fact, if not in law, to consent. In that case you undermine the whole logic underpinning age-of-consent laws, that until 18 a child is in need of protection because they lack such knowledge.

The difficulty in prosecuting from a list of names and credit card numbers is that prosecutors need forensic evidence from the boy's computer of the particular pornographic images transfered to a subject's computer in order to have probable cause to make an accusation. The list alone is not enough for indictments. And the most recent year or more of images he transmitted, after he turned 18, would not be illegal.

I have read his entire story. GROWN UP MEN who portrayed themselves as his friends and wanted to "help" him financially, LURED him into something he as a CHILD was not mature enough to understand or to resist. His mother was working alot and left him on his own too much. HE became a victim of perverts.

The boy fell for the come-on lines from adult men. He sunk into a hellhole world inhabited by perverts so nasty they make normal adults sick just to think what they encouraged that CHILD to do.

DID YOU KNOW THAT HIS OWN FATHER WAS A CRIMINAL, WITH WHOM HE DID NOT RESIDE, AND AFTER HE TOLD HIS FATHER ABOUT IT, THE FATHER PUSHED HIM TO GET MORE INTO THE PORN WORLD SO HE COULD MAKE MONEY ON IT.

I am a person who has attained over 70 years on this planet and I feel for youngsters who are put at risk by parents who do not protect them from ADULT-HUMAN-WOLVES!! This world is so full of adults who would hurt their own kids and those of others. THIS IS A SAD SITUATION.

I hate to think that you would blame a 13 year old, raped and murdered, victim if she had been out after 8pm and wore a cute dress when she went to the store, across the street to get something for her Mom. Or what about an 12 year old girl who cut across a parking lot on a Saturday afternoon in a city in Florida , and got dragged away by a man who later raped and tortured and killed her.

The boy's abuse is similar, except this boy lived and became an abuser himself. You do know his father also prostituted him, don't you? The abuse was NOT just online.

Oh, yes the kid got in deep with this porn stuff as a victim, then, as is the case so often with children who are abused, he became an abuser himself.

I hope and pray that this young man can, somehow overcome his abuse and repent of his own abuse of others. Also, I am glad he has come forward to help make the AMERICAN people more aware of a hideous situation, which is getting worse by the day!!!

I have to agree with you. He started this thing as a kid, and without any moral bearing from the system he was in (parents divorced, likely no social skills, no religous teaching, and public teaching sexual confusion). He engaged in something that only became innocuous later; he says he was 'just looking for friends,' something that lonely people do desperately, and instead found predators who did seemed to care.

As a confused teenager, he got drawn into a filthy underbelly of society and it spiraled downword as all things like this do. So, yes, I would classify him as a victim, just like a young woman drawn into prostitution may be. I do not condone his behavior whatsoever, but I am willing to give him some benefit of the doubt as to his true motivations. His father, mentioned as helping him in this business, deserves the full brunt of the law now, as do those people who chose to try and prey on him because he was underage.
