Or at least what I meant to write. NYC is not the entire country. NYers may not see it because of the raw emotions of having lived it. There are about 250 million other people in the country. Of those that don't want to see it, I'm sure many of them have less than an "honorable", for lack of a better word, reason for not wanting this movie to be seen.

You're wrong. Too many people are walking around in a kind of extended daze.

"raw emotions" is a good way of phrasing it.

then they need to be kicked AGAIN.
and AGAIN.
as many times as it takes to wake their fury and dedication to destroying those who did this to us.

For agenda Democrats 2000 years later is also "too soon" to make a movie about The Passion of the Christ.

This may be my last word on the subject.

Too soon???? Too soon???? Absolutely NOT, the MSM should have been showing footage of 9/11 everyday since it happened, everyday and every nite, that way there would be no question as to why we are in Iraq, no question as to who did this to us, no questions about why we need airport security, no questions as to why we NEED to slam the borders shut, yes indeedy, showing this footage would answer a hell of a lot of questions.

Very interesting.

"Over There" is a TV series about the Iraq war, yet I recall no hand wringing over the traumatic effect it might have on OIF vets, even though the war still goes as the series is aired.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" was certainly a controversial movie, mostly because of the facts (or lack of) involved, but I don't remember anyone saying such a film was "too soon" for vets of Afghanistan or Iraq, or the people traumatized by 9/11.

I sense a double standard.

ah, the New Yorker's infamous solipcism.

some of us who do not ourselves live in NYC had friends in the towers.
some of us who do not ourselves live in NYC had friends who shuttled constantly by air between Logan and LAX (raises hand).
some of us who do not ourselves live in NYC had kin at the Pentagon (raises hand).

9/11 was an American event, pally. it ain't about Noo Yawk.

Of course it was an American tragedy. And it is one of the things that unites us as Americans.

However, there are also different perspectives. The view is different from NYC than it is from Oregon or Montana. The view of the Pentagon is different from Georgetown than it is from NYC.

The event is the same, the view is different.

I feel for the folks who lost family and friends in the attacks. I feel for the folks around New York and DC who saw more of it than they wanted to live and uncut. Anybody other than them who says it's too soon can kiss my...well, whatever ethnicity my non-royal white ass happens to be. Sorry, folks. Michael Moore not only has had Fahrenheit 911 greenlighted, filmed, released and out on DVD by now. Oh, no. Fat Bastard is now working on a sequel. If it's not too soon for that, there is simply no way it's too soon to do a kinda sorta straightforward drama about something that actually happened that day.

I'd try it, but it doesn't seem to be helping those barking moonbats on the left LOL
