We hear the "conservatives" (actually wolves in sheeps' clothing) who have NEVER liked ANYTHING the President has done attacking mindlessly again. Who cares? The vast majority of these are real Leftists, disgruntled third party fans, or simply terribly confused and easily lead into error and destruction.

As President Bush cannot shape his policies to please those who know little about the real world. The Perpetually Pissed Off around here is joined hand in glove with the Leftists who love to hate the President.

Your post was a breath of fresh air. The article is nothing more than Bush Bashing. It is not careful analysis in the book, either. It is not balanced analysis.

Conservatives stand for Principles and so does President Bush. Some conservatives stand only for "idea" principles and little else. And they routinely cut off their noses to spite their faces. It's romanticism which gets in their way, IMHO.

I've always held the view that in fact, males are far more romantic (in the classic meaning of the word) than are females.

And Bandow and Bartlett have come off as "women scorned".

Be warned, my friend, the GOP prospects in 2008 are looking very dim.

I beg to differ. Just as sticky wages can permit the MSM to shriek hysterically and negatively about the short-term aggregate demand it all evens out in the long run. What we often see is JUST behind the curve of what's actually happening. So what we, on the ground, register as "doomed" is usually the sticky vision that's already passe in the action circles of what is ocurring in reality.

Even the editors of National Review admit, if a politician agreed with their suggestions 100% of the time, he'll get about 18% of the vote.

Prime example: Alan Keyes.

"The biggest problem is Bush himself, who—though a decent person who might make a good neighbor—suffers from unbridled hubris. His absolute certainty appears to be matched only by his extraordinary ignorance." Get stuffed, Doug, you closet bilgespittlist.

OK. That'll do. I was thinking Buchanan, but that was less than 4/10ths of a percent.

I am not just talking about Bush and Bartlett. It seems that every conservative is trying to show they are more conservative than the next guy. It is becoming one big piss contest. Rush Limbaugh would disagree that Bush is a "counterfeit conservative". In fact he is not in accordance with Bartlett on this. Does that make Limbaugh more conservative than Bartlett in essence making Bush more conservative than Bartlett as well? Debate among conservatives is crucial but to out right malign Bush the way Bartlett did is unconservative according to the 11th amendment. Which by the way was established by the most conservative of em' all.

What would be the point of "supportive, constructive criticism"?

Bush just does what he wants and to heck with everyone else.
He simply will NOT enforce the law, which is what he is supposed to be doing.

The Senate is completely ignoring what they are being told by a HUGE majority of their constituents.

I have NEVER sat home for an election, and I certainly won't for the next one, because I am THRILLED with Georgia's government, and want them to stay in power. If Republicans don't show some responsiveness to the PEOPLE and demonstrate some courage, I will simply not vote in the Federal election, or will find someone who I can vote FOR instead of having to vote for the lesser of two evils.

I have had ENOUGH, I have reached the end of my patience. I will not keep hoping that MAYBE the Republicans will actually ACT on what they say they believe.

You're not recruiting for The Constitution Party on this web site, are you?

You might have missed this part of my original post: ...Vote for Republican party candidates who are conservative, and withhold my vote from Republican party candidates like John McCain and George Bush who want to use the conservative base for non-conservative ends.

That would mean voting for appropriate Republicans, third party candidates, and not voting depending on the race in question.

but if the ultra-right don't get gets what appears to be its way, the GOP will not only lose control over the Congress, but may well take a dump in 2008, as well.

Fixed it for you.
