So true! A 2008 Bush victory would actually only be his 2nd legitimate elected term. After all, he was "selected" and not elected in 2000.

This is a joke but it is no joke that Clinton is indeed planning for a third term as Co-President in charge of the WH internship program.

It seems to me I remember rumors that Carter was going to pull some such thing before Reagan's inaguration, based on the rational of wartime footing or some blather.

No doubt there were some in his administration that fantasized about pulling something like that off. Ditto for the Clinton people.

It's useful to keep in mind that DIMs believe that their opponents will stoop to the same tactics as they. Thus, it is easy for them to believe stuff like this. And fun to watch.
