Who are you kidding? Ever read the book of First Timothy?

Yes it is. Where do you think Kip McKean came from? From a mainline Church of Christ in Gainesville, Florida.

Did you even check out my link:

http://www.reveal.org

I know because I was a member of both.

Well - it is obvious. All you want to do is make us fit your predetermined opinion. All you will acknowledge in the Bible are the verses that do not mention baptism - and you have probably not bothered reading the information provided on this thread.

You never even acknowledged my question about a possible misinterpretation of our views on baptism to indicate to a Baptist that since we say baptism is needed, maybe we are indicating that Christ's death was not good enough. And,
there appears to be no desire to discuss - just to attack.

We have clearly indicated out views and our views are based on verses in the Bible - so what else can we say?

Is baptism not an act of faith? How come faith does not extend to following the direction to repent, be baptised for the remission of sins and you will be saved?

And, you have never explained WHY you so reject being baptised?

Just don't understand Full Court how you can be this involved in religion and not be willing to be baptised - especially since there are so many verses that tell us to be baptised.

After Jesus arose from the grave he appeared to the eleven apostles. Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."

Now just why am I supposed to ignore these words?

I don't ignore the verses that say BELIEVERS should be baptized.

But they are already saved.

He may have come from them - but the International Churches of Christ are not the churches of Christ. I think they are the ones that are the cult.

I can't help it what you have heard - we are NOT THE INTERNATIONAL CHURCHES OF CHRIST. And, I would think that we know as we are the ones attending the church.

You don't know if I personally have rejected being baptized or not.

What I reject is the false teaching from the CoC that I am not saved if I have not been baptized.

Churches have become social clubs for people who like to think they're better than the average Joe on the street. I've seen more selfish, heartless people in churches than I care to remember. Not my kind of place or my kind of people.

before I was saved, I knew people just like you described, but they all hung out at the local bar.

Well we do all of the steps at once - confess that we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, repent of our sins and are baptised for the remission of those past sins.

We are doing the same thing but you apparently only use baptism as joining the local congregation or something. We believe it is one of the steps of accepting the salvation offered.

And if we leave out baptism - we feel we are not completing the instructions given as we then are not following the verses that say whoever believes and is baptised will be saved.

For a better explanation of the interpretation of the scripture listen to yukong and LucyJo. They are more knowledgeable of the Bible and the explanations than I am.

I don't know about the mainline CoC, but the ICC do believe they are God's sole remnant on earth, as evidenced by the fact that there is only one congregation in a given geographical area. For example, there is "the Tampa Church of Christ," "the South Florida Church of Christ," "the Orlando Church of Christ", and that is the name they go by.

What if you sin after you are baptized? What then do you do?

We are saved by grace because none of us is or will be perfect. Jesus paid the price for us.

Yet, we are to follow Him and be faithful. When we sin, we ask for forgiveness. We are not given free license to live a sinful life as we now live following Christ. Yet, those that have fallen away, can ask for forgiveness and to be restored to the Church.

I would like yukong or another bible scholar to give you instruction in these areas as I fear I might mis-explain to you. We are all sinners and have faults and weaknesses. But, by faith and prayer we follow Jesus and do the best we can. Forgiveness covers much as we all know.

Kip McKean took a lot of mainline Church of Christs and infiltrated them and made them into ICofCs.

I know I belonged to both. And BTW, the ICofC do have different names rather than by city. Both the mainline CofC and the ICofC believe they are God's sole remnant on earth.

I thoroughly enjoy discussing with you as discussing - not fighting. As do yukong and the others.

People tend to get very emotional on religion issues. But we should just consider this an opportunity to explain what we believe and why, and ask questions of what and why others believe. We both understand each other better and we both learn.

We still are free to study and learn what God wants and agree or not. But the main thing is what God wants - not what you want, not what I want.

No doubt all of us make misinterpretations in some facets as we are learning and growing and have influences of others views of what is the correct thing to do.

For Florida, at least, that's how they call themselves. The South Florida Church sells and uses "non-remnant" books, music and materials. For example, books by Joshua Harris. I wonder why they would do that if they believe outsiders aren't true Christians.

The ICofC do go by other names than just the city name. Trust me.
