Isavasya Upanishad 9.
Into blinding darkness enter those who worship ignorance and into greater darkness those who worship knowledge alone.

And in one sentence, encompassing the Pragmatists and Experimentalists
Worshiping the knowledge of the world alone,
treating all effort at Metaphysic as unfruitful

"It is fascinating. In the West, you have bigger homes, yet smaller families; you have endless conveniences -- yet you never seem to have any time. You can travel anywhere in the world, yet you don't bother to cross the road to meet your neighbours," he said.

I can see why Tibet is still under the thumb of the chi-coms.

I find it fascinating that those who hold the most firm opinions
Permit only the most limiting world views

Reminds me of working with teenagers

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to
entertain a thought without accepting it.

Is this the guy who has no country,'cause He wouldn't fight?

Well said, and proof that his way is the path to defeat. Frankly getting them to pop up is the problem, its the Jihadi in hiding that is hard to shoot.

I'm always suspicious of people who proclaim they're the kindest, wisest, holiest person on the planet.

Terrorists, he warned, must be treated humanely.

I suppose that I agree: That they should be treated as humanely as, say, a rabid oppossum, and put down as quickly and humanely as possible, prefferably from a safe distance.

If you speak total gibberish, the mainstream media thinks it is something profound and deeply spiritual.

My uncle is his personal friend. And the Dalai Lama always narrows the issues to their kernel of truth. His patience is astounding, he listens very well and always tries to leave others with more understanding and an ability to respect each other. He truly is a remarkable human being.

Jihadi are indeed cowards, and pretty much souless. It takes both to plant a bomb on a school bus full of children.

Hello from Jerusalem! I miss Mohave, I used to lizzard hunt there when it was legal.

"Fundamentalism is terrifying because it is based purely on emotion, rather than intelligence," the 70-year-old monk said at the seat of his government-in-exile in the northern Indian hilltop town of Dharamsala.

Very true! I wonder if he'd like my essay on fanaticism which can be found on the bottom of my profile page?
