Seriously, its gonna take more dying on our side in order to realize that Islam is as evil as Nazism or Communism were, and just as big a threat to Western values.

Fundamental Islam is THE threat we are fighting. We are trying to make the job easier by dividing Muslims along good and evil.

There are those that want to throw their hands up, call all Islam a religion of evil, and fight all 1.2 billion Muslims now.

I'd rather try to divide them and fight the 50 million or so that are lost to hatred.

I have no problem with the belief in the headline. The problem comes with the corollary, which is that religious minorities should be suppressed, oppressed or persecuted.

Erik, I'd like to think that it's only 50 million lost to hatred. And, yes, I've been a proponent of the "don't fight them all at once" theory. But evidence shows, if they are over in areas that are substantially Islamunist, they seem irredeemable.

This isn't Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan, with their large technical industrialized societies that we're fighting. These buffoons live in the 7th Century, if the Western world lets loose its might, we can stomp them in mere months. We just don't collectively have the will to do so yet, and more Americans and Europeans are going to have to die before their leadership gets the point that something decisive needs to be done.

I've thought that the current situation is the mirror image of WWII: US Presidential candidates were making speeches about "keeping us out of Europe's war" after Hitler had already marched through the streets of Paris. It took an attack on us to get enough of us to see that it was our fight, too. That's what I envision happening to the Europeans.

I have not written them all off to evil yet.

I think many are uneducated dupes that go along with whatever sounds like it might give them a future.

That is why our strategy to elevate the good Muslims has a good chance of working. Give these people property, a job and a house and suddenly blowing yourself up for Allah does not sound so good.
