Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday labeled it "a mistake, an unfortunate lack of recognition of a member of Congress." She added that the police officer was not at fault.Yeah, when I don't get recognized by someone I suckerpunch them. No big deal. /sarc

Her next election, whether its the forthcoming term or the one after she gets out of prison, is in the bag. Her constituents are really, really dumb.

There is a video of this, am I correct? I can't wait for it to become available to the network news and learn of their attempts to either edit it or simply spike it to help this anti-American legislator stay out of serious trouble.
BTW, she is the victim here, just ask her.

[Nancy Pelosi] added that the police officer was not at fault."
I bet Pelosi is constipated for three weeks for having to make this admission about a law enforcement officer.

Throw this traitor in prison and let her rot!! more likely that the prison will rot!!! cynthia mckinney is a despicable example of the democRAT race baiters. i hope she goes to hell.

Cynthia McKinney is NOT a victim of anything...
She is the perpetrator of a hate crime.
She has committed a felonious assault on a police officer and the incident is aggravated by the obvious motivation of her racial hatred which makes this a "hate crime" and should incur more significant punishment.
The true test of whether or not this is true, is simply to reverse the races of the people involved. If the officer were black and the person committing the assault were white (congressman or not) it would immediately draw the wrath Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and even Miss McKinney herself... being black shouldn't give you a pass to be a bigot, racist, or the right to assault and batter other people.
She clocked a police officer (there to protect the likes of her)... which in itself is a crime, but obviously her actions were motivated by a deep seeded racial antipathy towards white men, as made abundantly clear by her, and her cohorts' subsequent comments, and actions.
There is obviously no remorse in her heart. She did NOT apologize, if you read her statement on the house floor, she "categorically denies any wrongdoing"
One of McKinney's lawyers, James W. Myart Jr. said that her problems with police are racial in nature. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, like thousands of average Americans across this country, is, too, a victim of the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials..."
No, Mr. Myart, she is NOT the victim. The police officer is the one who was struck by your client. She is the perpetrator. She is the racist. The victim of racial hatred and the concomitant physical assault is the police officer.
She has committed a crime. Those who are in power have the obligation to hold to a higher standard of behavior. At the very least, they should not be allowed to commit such heinous crimes and get away with it. What kind of example does that set for American children? This is a clear abuse of power, motivated by racial bigotry.
There is no way this racist firebrand should be treated any differently than any of the rest of us.
She of all people should know better. I say, throw the book at her. Due to her abuse of her position of power, the nature of the crime itself, and that it was clearly a racially motivate act, making it a hate crime. McKinney should be spending at a minimum ten years in a federal prison.
