RNC Memo Warns GOPers Not To Distance Themselves From Bush
The Hotline (National Journal) ^ | March 28, 2006

Posted on 03/28/2006 7:52:53 PM PST by Karl Rand

Republican pollster Jan van Lohuizen, in a memo written for RNC chairman Ken Mehlman, warns that if members of Congress try to drive a wedge between themselves and Pres. Bush, it'd be akin to adding weight to an anchor. GOpers are "W Brand Republicans" whether they like it or not. And van Louhizen, who has polled (often secretly) for the Bush White House under the RNC aegis for years, is worried about low turnout.

Time Magazine first reported on the memo this weekend, but the full text is below.

The RNC will get nothing in return for amnesty. Those that get amnesty will not vote Republican. I live in CA and if the illegals get amnesty, the state will never go back to (R). The closest CA will be (R) is the (Rino) gov we have now.

I'm afraid that the verdict of history will list Ted Kennedy as the most influential politician in the last half of the twentieth century. His 1965 immigration reform act turned the California that voted for GOP candidate for President ten out of eleven times between 1948 and 1988 into the California that has voted Democrat four times in a row.

My read of the current environment is that our problem will be turnout.

Brilliant, aren't they?

Why would anyone be surprised at a low turnout when they keep sticking hot needles into the 'balloon' of GOP enthusiasm on the issues actual Republicans care about?

One seat away from controlling the US Supreme Court AND the Congress and The Presidency for the 1st time since 1932 and the Whiners would throw it all away because President Bush and the Congress don't do ONLY what they what when they want it. Throw away 70% good to get 100% bad just at the moment of Conservative victory that been 25 YEARS in the builiding. That is just too politically stupid to take seriously.

Can you repost that in spanish so that the main suppoters of this President can read it?

"...refuse illegals free schools ..."

But you see, that geni is already out of the bottle. The Supreme Court said they must be provided schooling. One of my arguments is that we lack the political will to do the things some people are calling for here.

I feel compelled to pull all support from the GOP entirely as the only hope I have of ever having a major political party in the future that represents my interests. I know it will suck to have Democrats in power, even for a short time, but it will suck more to never have hope again for my country. And it will suck a lot more for the GOP leadership which is betraying not only conservatives but our nation as a whole with its death-grip embrace of socialism and globalism.

"This isn't a Democrat or Republican issue. The majority of Democrats oppose amnesty for illegal aliens too. "

The largest demonstration in the history of California:
Over 1 Million Protest in Los Angeles for Immigrant Rights!

(snip)
The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition provided logistical support and mobilized for today's demonstration in Los Angeles. Thousands of A.N.S.W.E.R.'s yellow and black placards reading "Amnistía, Full Rights for All Immigrants" were held throughout the march. A.N.S.W.E.R. also organized a major contingent in the march.

what will become of this country if we have to try to assimilate that large a group, most of whom don't want to assimilate at all?

BINGO ..another winner..Mark my words , in a few years everything will be in Spainish first and you'll have to press 2 for English when you call information .I live in North NJ and I'm now an alien in my old neighborhood. They think it quaint that I speak only English .

Just curious: is it more expensive to hire illegals? or use a machine? If this is about finding good machines to do the work, then it's not really about Americans losing job opportunities?

100 million, Tancredo said. It had not occurred to me that so many others would come along once amnesty is granted.

I don't think this country can survive such an onslaught.

"The Supreme Court said they must be provided schooling."

Well, by God that's why we're fighting the battle to keep Republican control over the Whitehouse and Senate. We must continue replacing liberal activist judges with conservative (constitutional minded) judges. It's the only way we'll EVER get out of this mess we;re in without a civil war. If we lose the Senate and or Hillary gets to appoint judges, we're going to lose it all for a long long time. Maybe forever.

Worse than that because of civil rights laws they will enjoy the status of a "protected class" with a higher legal standing in some situations than a native born American. Imagine some guy from Somalia who a dozen years ago danced for joy on the rotor of out downed Blackhawk. He can be free with anti-American comments in the workplace, it it stirs up a fight it will be the native born American who gets fired. A guy who served in Al Qaeda would have more rights than some guy who served in the 82nd, merely because of the color of his skin.

(in spite of the absolute glee such a prospect raises among the extremists in this forum).

Demanding that the invaders of ones country be removed now makes you an extremist?

Look on the bright side: if the economy crashes, then the illegal immigration pretty much ends.
