I have not seen anywhere in the law that makes illegal presence grounds for removal.

I bet when they come to your yard, you come up with a reason.

No need to incarcerate all the illegals boot them out, and
lock the door.

Maybe in some cases, but as I understand it, mere pressence is not enough.

I think that might be the biggest flaw in the law.

Mexico. Now slap on your dunce cap and go sit in the corner.

Ri-i-i-i-ight, and the threat of a felony arrest in the U.S. is SURE to keep 'em there, just as it has for the last quarter century! < /sarc >.

Eliminate the economic advatantage to the immigrant and the employer and the immigrant will self-deport or become a productive tax payer. I am OK with either resolution for those currently in country. As for the southern border, seal it shut.

I know of a number of people in my company from the Netherlands, UK and Australia to name a few that would love to migrate legally to the US and cannot. These are talented engineering types who would pay taxes and contribute to society. They cannot get anyhting more than a visitors Visa. I even has one guy from the Netherlands get deported because he stayed a month too long while in training. Yet, 12 (actually 20+) million illegals from our south hide right in the wide open.

I wonder if the "Virual Barrier" security will last 12 months.

They should not be incarcerated. they could be put in chain gangs and put to work building the border fence.

...and filling in the 500 estimated tunnels underneath it?

The sellout to globalism is almost complete, this bill will be the final blow, after this bill passes the USA will be toast. Our leaders are either cowards or traitors or both.

Needs repeated and bumped!

Not that it will help, but one can always hope.

Since our congress is into breaking and not enforcing laws, I say Arnold Swartzeneger for President!

Immigrant Illegal alien supporters claimed their first major victory since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks...

"Today, there are approximately 12 million illegal aliens in the United States. Approximately 40 percent have arrived here since 9/11."

Not an easy problem to solve.

Especially if no attempt is made. </ Sarcasm>

I believe bills being written and debated means attempts are being made?

McCain said the turnouts in the hundreds of thousands - particularly among Hispanics - at recent rallies in Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington helped galvanize support for the bill.

pathetic, disgusting, pos! Those rallies were full of illegals who do NOT have a voice in American policy!

Dam these people are really stupid.

"I read that 1/2 of the illegals are not from Mexico.
Half flew in and then overstayed their visas. These will be expensive to deport. Not an easy problem to solve."

It costs us billions to keep them here with all the benefits they receive - gratis the American tax payer!!

No thanks to Arnold for POTUS.

I'd prefer an American (Constitutional requirement) and a Conservative (my requirement). ;)

I find that difficult to believe. Not saying it ain't so, just don't think it is.
