Huh and President Bush yesterday said that new immigrants should learn English.
Poor Louie dobbs, he's losing his cash cow and he knows it.

So much for the "African-American" theory.

Good quote there Mel - but much has changed since 1919 - I don't think women could vote, for instance. Should we repeal the 19th Amendment now too?
To: Dane
I have no idea what you are talking about but do you disagree with anything TR said?

The date at the end of the post is not possible. Teddy Roosevelt died in 1918.

That's very flawed logic. The constitution was written in the 18th century, much has changed since then... the Bible was written 2000 years ago... much has changed since then...

Sounded good to me. What suggested that we repeal the 19th?
I couldn't get the entire article. The Clinton News Network didn't work correctly. - What did I miss?

We don't have slaves anymore either. I'm just asking if it's O.K. to teleport everything back to 1919.

President Bush yesterday said that new immigrants should learn English. Should learn English?????? Should??? How about MUST, no ifs, ands, or buts about it????
I am disgusted by those who call themselves a hyphenated American.
I agree completely with this statement by T.R.

One thing both the left and the right agree on is they don't want an amnesty program, they don't want a guest worker program. Only Legal immigration

What I do disagree with is what demagogue king louie dobbs has done with the immigration issue for his own personal aggrandizement at CNN(i.e bashing Bush).

If Roosevelt was right in 1919, he is right today.
I take it you think illegal immigration is just ducky. If not say so and say it plainly.

I'll agree that a lot has changed, but I don't see anything that changed the basic premise of immigration - that the immigrants assimilate into our society.
I would haved to agree with the post. I don't see anything remotely indicating the suggestion that we repeal anything.
