It is one thing to go after government schools. I don't think they are right, but I can understand the fight.
But targeting religious private schools, where this is completely against the principles on which it was founded, is a completely different issue. There should be no question at all. The schools should be able to make whatever rules they like.

If this girl doesn't agree with Catholic values she should transfer to anther high school. And hope the door doesn't hit her trouble-making backside on the way out...

Thing is, this is a private school. They can pretty much run their prom however they want, I'd think.

I suppose the same thing will eventually be said for dope dealing... or child molesters.
So what if it has been a deviance, a perversion for thousands of years?

Ritch Savin-Williams, professor of human development at Cornell University Wonder how much Cornell pays this person to pontificate on matters gay? For that matter, wonder also if this person is male or female?

"...believes school administrators are discriminating against them." Of course they are. Isn't that what separating the wheat from the chaff is all about?

Have them cancel the prom if it's causing so much controversy. I'm sure she wouldn't be too popular with the other students after they hear that it was canceled because of her.

It's a private school. A $500 donation to the alumni fund would have prevented choice of date from ever showing up on the radar. She could have taken a lesbian Snow White as her date along with seven homosexual dwarfs for a donation of $2,000.
It's how private schools work.

......and this would be the danger of any private school accepting any government money. They would be forced to allow this type of indecency or give up the $$.
With government money comes government control.

Simple solution. Have your parents take you out of Catholic School and enroll in public school. OR better yet demand that the public school system support a charter school for GLBTQ youths.
But hey that does not involve trashing the beliefs of Catholicism or making yourself victim of the week or striking a blow for whiny narcissists (sp) everywhere. And that just won't do, will it?

Teenagers, in general, are also less judgmental of gays and lesbians, he said. And there is a reason - because of the liberal brainwashing going on both from the #1 babysitter - Televeision, and from the public schools who "educate" the majority of US children. When surrounded by such brainwashing, it's hard for a parent with VALUES to teach those values to their children.
Welcome to the future of the country with "diversity education" and "tolerance".
