Dell at best assembles computers, most are built elsewhere. Likely all the parts are foreign origin. No difference than Levenco, who's plants are in the US and Mexico

Samsung has a 2.5 billion dollar chip plant in Austin, Texas. Intel is building a 3 billion dollar plant in Arizona.

mother glass is what yields all the different size LCDs. Part of the LCD biz's risk is betting on the right size for the right products that the market wants, so the right mother glass with the optimal yeild to support what sells in the market is a big deal.

Actually their call centers are in India. I've bought a Dell item last year and it was an indian at the other end of the world that was taking my order. I was suprised I wasnt charged an outrageous amout of money in international phone calls.
