The MSM will give Hillary a pass on this; we will hear no denunciations of citing scripture as a reason for voting for or against legislation. And I'm not even sure her scriptural reference is pertinent. The Good Samaritan story is about helping a man who has been robbed, beaten, and thrown in a ditch, not about helping someone who has himself broken the law.

Felons can't vote, shes doesn't care about them, shes just afraid of losing their votes

Invoking Biblical themes... criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself. This sounds like the work of Jim Wallis, the religious guru the Democrats hired to teach the them how to speak in more "values-oriented" terms.

"Senator Clinton is shoring up the illegal immigrant vote for the next election. :) Well she'll have to fight the republicans for it. Remember it was our party who first called them "undocumented workers" and labeled the Minutemen "vigilantes". Also with our party controlling all three branches of government no party could have done a better job of kissing Vicente's ass when requested. No we've looked the other way, winked and nodded and pissed off many a true conservative to let Hillary steal our illegals, I mean undocumented workers. Remember how we held back our puke when our president looked in the cameras and said, "compassion doesn't end at the Rio Grande". So Hillary find you another group to pander to those ille..uh undocumented workers are ours. </sarcasm>

This one of those articles that needs to be saved so that it can be dusted off when she flip flops all over immigration during the election season.
We'll have to be the ones to do it. The MSM affixed their collective lips to Hillary's ass with Super Glue in 1991, and they will never challenge her. Indeed, they will make any attacks on her seem mean-spirited.

its currently a civil infraction. kinda like a speeding ticket or a parking ticket, or jaywalking. that should tell you just about how serious pols think illegal immigration is.

Wonder what her biblical thoughts on homosexuality are...or adultry...stealing and killing and on and on.

"NEW YORK -- Invoking Biblical themes, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton joined immigration advocates Wednesday to vow and block legislation seeking to criminalize undocumented immigrants."
I think this is her first big political screwup.

That's a very good guess. The problem is (for Hillary), I don't think Hillary's going to fool anybody on the Christian right, and the middle-of-the-road people are mostly against illegal immigration.

You're in trouble in '08, Shrillary. The radical left won't vote for you if you don't support this bill, and the "moderates" won't vote for you if you do. Dontcha just love it that Hillary keeps stepping in it everytime she opens her mouth? It's as if she's debating herself.

But in doing so, she's trying to appeal to the religious right by using this scriptural argument. In other words, she thinks they are stupid and won't see through this transparent bit of pandering. It sounds like Hillary is getting some bad advice.

Sort of...IF the Republican's would get behind the majority in this Nation who are sick and tired of Washington dragging it's heels on Illegal immigration issues..then we could keep the White House. Not that Bush has done much to help us out wrt keeping out the welcome mat.

Clinton:..because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself. This sounds like a violation of the seperation of church and state....hypocrite
HRC may very well be a hypocrite but even she can't violate something that doesn't exist...at least in the Constitution of the United States. Nor did our Founders intend this to be.
The phrase separation of Church from the State refers to those gentlemen's desire to create a nation where folks could worship as they saw fit to do. At the time, the Church of England was imposed on the colonies, some state legislatures even wishing to support the Anglican Church with public taxes. The nation builders would have no part of this, hence the establishment clause of the 1st Amend.

Funny how ol Hitlery can use the bible to defend law breakers but wont say a word about the bible in terms of how it condems homosex. Im sure God intended women to have abortions at 9 mos just because they wanted to????
The sad thing is that most RINOs are not much different than her.
