Listening to the third hour.
Correction for this caller, much of what he is referring to is actually owned by The Republic of China (Taiwan) not the People's Republic of China... I actually like that the People's Republic, however, owns a lot of our bonds.. this means they have a vested interest in our success and safety.
This guest is about as interesting as listening to paint dry. :-)
Waiting for 3pm to see if Doc Savage is going on that vacation with his family like he said, or if he will be in this week!
LOL:)--The message is interesting--just not so much the delivery. I like when Rick Roberts fills in for Savage--he's pretty good.
Savage is live today! Discussing last night's Sopranos episode to open the show.
To me that was kind of annoying--why bring it up then? Did you hear Medved the next day asking callers what they find annoying about talk show hosts--Medved brought up talking about blood tests and dogs and such. I knew exactly who he was talking about. One caller to Medved went off with a long list about Savage without mentioning his name.
Roberts leaves me a bit cold, mostly because he appears to be Savage's permanent substitute and his voice is associated with 'No Savage Today.'
LOL:) Kind of like a reverse Pavlov dog's reaction. Hey--he's on. No being bummed out for you today.
What did you think about the port deal?
Ooo--Horowitz is going to be on. Cool.
LOL again. I haven't listened to Savage for as long as you. I think we got him in Denver about three years ago--that's when I started listening. I've never bought any of his books--not because they don't sound interesting--just haven't, but the Political Zoo sounds like it's going to be a good one. Is it already out?
I've been a fan of Savage since I moved to Las Vegas and began working out of my home, and he is on 4pm-7pm which was the time I'd come back from errands and such and sit down, do work, and make dinner. Perfect time - I warmed to him immediately.
His books are very good and entertaining - just like the show. His political and policy arguments are punctuated by neat stuff like advice to hapless young men trying to pick up liberal women in bookstores, etc. They capture the spirit and humor of the show. I think a problem most of his critics have is that they just aren't looking at the humor aspect. If you take Savage 100% seriouisly, he is harrowing. If you get a feel for what does, you end up laughing out loud for 3 hours.
The book comes out mid-april and it looks good. Credit to Savage for at least trying something different. I will definitely pick up 'The Political Zoo!' He has started giving them away to good callers, but I don't think he actually has the advance copies yet.
I think you are right but he's brought him up before without mentioning his name so he must listen to his show.
I feel the same with you about the ports deal--went through the same evolution. I agree about the administration. I wish they (White House/Congress) would start doing three things and I would be pretty happy--stop the spending and start cutting, build a really thick, tall, deep wall down south and fast, and start communicating the conservative message to the Americans that don't follow things like we do.
The only one that could realistically happen is the communication and I don't even see that happening. It's too bad that we can get the White House, both Houses, and some conservative judges on the Supreme Court and we are still hampered. I just think we've got too many duds on the Republican side.
I agree with Savage about Trump. That guy gives me the creeps--and he is one ugly dude.
come over to the savage nation live thread i started! ;-)
I like his kind of humor. He's one person that can get me laughing out loud. Sometimes he drives me nuts when he's going on about some things but I just ignore it or turn him off for a minute. He's great at storytelling and talking. He makes it seem easy. I wouldn't know what to say for one minute let alone three hours. Of course Medved makes it seem easy too. I like Medved's sense of humor too. I like it when someone says something to Medved and he cracks up. I know--I'm strange--I'm a talk show junkie. I think you can relate though. As a teenager I'd get excited to see rock concerts, now I get excited to see Medved or Prager live. If only they sold T-shirts with the dates and cities of their appearances on the back--ha, ha--Medved's North American tour.
Thanks.
I'd love to see Prager, Medved, or Savage live. I'm with you!
I had to go out during the second hour; then, soon after I returned this evening, had a 4 hour power outage in the area.
Never a dull moment.
