Thanks, I couldn't find anything posted on the web at Fox or CNN.

'Tunnel collapse' on Moscow metro (BBC)
A section of tunnel has collapsed on the Moscow metro, causing a fire to break out on a train, Russian media have reported.
There have been no reports about casualties in the incident, which happened in the north of the city.

The accident occurred on a section of subway between Sokol and Voikovskaya stations in north-west Moscow, RIA-Novosti news agency said.

An Emergency Ministry spokesman said passengers were being evacuated.

Who ever knew the good news would be shoddy engineering?

A bit more info here.

"Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman Viktor Beltsov said that a concrete section fell on a train, triggering a fire. There was no immediate information on casualties."

Here is a video of Russian drivers in a recently opened new tunnel.

Idiots.

The music is pretty good too.

Wow! The video is pretty intense when you've had to swerve for an incident somewhat like that.

I suspect there was ice invovled in a majority of the tunnel accidents we see in the video. The accidents appear to be the result of the vehicles suddenly spinning out of control.

Russians are the worst drivers in the world - with absolutely no regard for traffic regulations .

Its hard to see from the video but these cars are going WAY over the speed limit and probably losing it on tires that are way past worn.

That's just wild.

And what's with that bus wagging the tail? Doesn't even look like he slowed down.

In the "no regard for traffic regs" category, I vote for the Chinese. Once you get out of any of the major cities, traffic rules simply aren't followed or enforced. Some of the dumbest, most suicidal things I've seen occured in Mainland china. City buses running at night with no headlights/tailights. Changing a tire in one lane, putting the spare in the next and putting a tree branch in it to "alert" folks. Of course it was night and the lights on the truck were out. Or how about the road crews who dig open pits in the road to presumably fix something, but don't bother to cone it off. Over this 4-5 mile stretch, they had about 8 pits dug, half had a car in it. Red lights don't mean stop, they merely mean other people may be getting in your way. It's nuts.

He actually helped pull the trailer in line by not backing off. But still, driving way too fast.

Never been there - and now I am sure I don't want to. Its sad that the communist mindset is so fatalistic to accept such a low value to life.
