The day wear (pun intended) everyone is Irish.

Now for a bit of ironic Irish humor. I am Irish, very Irish. I take after my dad's mother's side of the family. Her maiden name, O'Flaherty. While I was growing up, even tho we were Irish, we didn't eat corned beef and cabbage.

After I left home my roommate made corned beef and cabbage for dinner one night. I just loved it. Later that night I came down with what I thought was the flu. About a week later I decided to make corned beef for dinner. An hour later I again became ill, very ill. This time my body decided to really let me know that it didn't like corned beef. I was so ill that I had to be taken into ER, twice to stop the allergic reaction. The ER doctor informed me that if I ever eat corned beef again it could kill me.

Later, when I talked to my Mom, I found out that the reason that we didn't have corned beef on St. Patrick Day was that my Irish father was allergic to it.

So this Irish lass will have to stick to the green beer to celebrate the wearing of the green.
